I'm number 5 in line. Got 5k down so don't know if I will ever get the car or not.
Think you will, if you decide not, sell your place for a profit to someone on PH, as people have being dropping out on the basis its not special enough having a Carrera engine as they wanted more engine wise and giving their slots to others, no doubt for a slight premium.
Do it, but in minimum spec, just add the buckets and try to keep your cost below 70k.
Trust me on used market after 3-6 months ownershop you'd make 5-10k profit as enthusiast will want one and buckets will be essential.
If you go over the top with extras and end up paying 80k area, then you'd probably not lose money but probably would not make any either.
End of the day it offers same performance in a straight line as your 911, but looks more aggressive, will be very rare and if you ever do decide to track it then well its a GT car, immense! Stands to lose you little to no money, maybe a profit, whereas your 911 will continue depreciating.
