Portal 2 is awesome 
Finished Portal 2 ealier in the week, great game I must say and im not much of a gamer these days. It has a lot of elements from the first one but they do add extra stuff for problem solving Have yet to delve properly into the Co-Op mode tho.

Was in the same situation - I looove the first one, couldn't wait for the second, but I couldn't finish it - was later on in the game (won't spoil it) when you're messing about with the various types of goo. I just didn't like that bit of the game at all. I ploughed on after a bit of a break and clocked it, but there's no way it'll get replayed as much as Portal did. I regularly go back and clock Portal over and over -just don't see the replayability in the second.
Still a fantastic game, probably only Deus Ex comes close to it this year - but Portal is still my favourite by far.
I played the first Portal on release, which in my opinion is one of the greatest games of all time, but I haven't got around to playing the second one yet.
From what I've seen of it, it just doesn't seem worth the money to me. Looks like more of the same but with a different story, with some co-op stuff I'll never touch. So I'm going to wait for the Christmas sales and pick it up cheap.

@ The OP, Portal was one of my favourite games of all time, I thought it was brilliant and almost faultless.
Portal II is just as good, if not better. Brilliant. One of the few games that has made me laugh out loud.
I loved it. Got so many laughs out of it too which is pretty rare for a game. Although I would say that it was worth its price at release, if I was buying it now I would wait until the christmas sale as it will no doubt be peanuts. If I remember rightly, Valve reduced most of their games prior to the sale last year.
