Portal Update

The only hint (apart from 'people' hearing hl cast voices in the garbled audio files...:rolleyes:) thats to do with episode three is in this ascii image

shares a fair resemblance to the episode 3 concept art released years ago but its still a stretch.

You can see most of them are very portal (1) related, but there are a few weird ones, the fish, chemical build up and the two 'robot' holding hands.

for some reason im scared.....this seems like a riddle. If you get it right you will survive. If you get it wrong you will get open portals on the roof and floor and some dude will pop out of nowhere and push you in (in rl) and you will be going down forever and ever.

Hope its EP3 or Portal 2. Or even both getting released in a Gold Box (like orange box but gold)
 
wow.. this is some crazy sh** ... is there a complete compilation of all the halflife 2 /portal viral solutions anywhere?.. - i only just found the whatsinthebox site and im baffled by that....

also does that book have any particular significance?.. is it a proper retail book?...
- Theres deffinate dinasaur theme here... go on whats in the box , bottom segment of the circle- say please, it says "who are you, dennis nedry?" .. Dennis nedry is an actor in jurassic park

Does anybody know the apparrent progress of episode 3? - I heard it wasn't planned for ages, however everything in these virals points towards "the box" being appertures- or whatever other name they're under- new project, the one on that boat, thats linked to in episode 2. Theres also a hint in another video in the second link 9 which is brill) of somthing in 2010.. However could vavle really develop a game this quietly?.. From this video http://boxblip.blip.tv/ it appears the box could explain the (borealis (?)- the ship) apparent dissaperance and then sudden appearance, and form that video it is apparent why the combine are so eager to get their hands on the ship...
 
When I spoke to Chet at eurogamer expo in london, we asked what the guys back at valve were doing as the big tf2 update had been finished at the time (they got other dev teams from diff valve games in on that one update) and if they had gone back to episode 3.

He winked at us and said "oh, getting massages!"


a lot of people are pointing evidence towards ep3 now

is the whatsinthebox site actually related to the portal update? i thought it was a fan thing?.
 
Not even God knows what progress they've made on Episode 3. This is just Valves way of making sure everyone is still paying attention, no surprises that we all are :p
