Portsmouth given Winding up Order

Yeah the idea is that clubs know that Pompey are desperate for cash (in spite of what they say) so they want to get in now and grab a bargain for the summer. So a player with a market value of say £2m can be picked up for £750k or whatever.

Current debt at £138.6m. How on earth can they get away with blatantly lying about their level of debt in court at the £60m mark when it's more than double that?

I really cannot see Pompey getting CVA coverage for 75% of those debts before the start of next season. I can see them starting next season with a pretty hefty point deduction.

Someone seriously needs to serve a jail sentence for whats gone on at pompey, i have no doubts that some serious fraud has been occurring there over the last few years.

This reminds me of whats happened to notts county, new owners who promise big money but who actually only pay the bare minimum costs and borrow the rest whilst pocketing the gate receipts, then walk away with a profit and leave the debts to the club.

Also i think FIFA's rule that football debt is prioritised over charities and local businesses is a disgrace.
