Morning guys,

Just a quick one before I raise it with my doc on Wednesday with my regular checkup. And to save my self looking like a ***.

Is it possible to break certain bones and still carry on as normal, paticularly in your feet?

On the top of my left foot (forgive my biology, not exactly a science geek lol), it has been sore for the last 2 weeks, if I put presure on the inside of my big toe to move it away from the others, the pain is very high, but when walking like normal, it's very minimal. If I try to push all my toes upwards it hurts as well.

I have closely examined the area and no bruising is present and the pain has not become less or more since it started.

I can't remember exactly when this started as well, just remember waking up one morning with it.

Anyways, is it a possible fracture of some sort? Or do I just need to spend man points to buy some balls?

Thanks :)

Yes, it is possible.....I broke a finger and didn't realise until it started changing colour several weeks later.

A friend broke his leg and carried on as normal, he just said it hurt a bit, then a in a few weeks it got swollen and started to turn black, had an xray and he had several fractures.

Eeek, was it constantly warmer than usual as well around the fractured/broken bone?

Guess I will raise it with the doc on Wednesday then lol.

First off, get yourself to the Doctor, medical threads are frowned upon here. I have been off work for the past 2 months with a stress fracture of third dorsum metatarsal bone in me right foot. My right foot has a tendency to land on it's outside edge when i walk so putting a side load on the long bones of the foot which they're not designed to cope with and this bone in me right foot let just let go.

I'm not a doctor, just relating what my symptons were/ are, get yourself to the doc asap and he might send you for an X-ray which'll show if you've an injury straight away.

Thanks for the input chap, as said, got a doctors appointment with the nurse to get the last of my vaccines for India and a checkup with my GP right after. So will bring it up then :)

A friend at my running club managed to break his fibula in 3 places whilst falling over a wall, and walk around on it for a week. He only went to hospital when someone saw it looking black.

Ok, so my question now is if it is a fracture, a tiny one... What exactly can they do? Will they just tell me to take weight off? Will I end up with an elephant foot of plaster?

Girl at work has turned up with what she thinks is a broken toe. She did it on Saturday night, but she has no idea how. Oh, how we lol'd.

Look up an old goalie called Bert Trautman - he was that hard he played on with a broken neck.

I was also told that the area you are describing (right on top of the foot) may not show up on an X-ray.
Apparently it's like a blank spot for an Imaging machine.

Broke a finger playing in goal, didn't realise until a couple of days later when the swelling went down and I found it would bend in ways it wasn't meant to!

I had a friend at school who had broke his arm but didn't get it seen to until a couple of weeks later because of a misdiagnosis.

yup, i broke my foot and it was the same. there's pretty much ** Please fully star out swear words - Please read FAQs regarding rules ** all they can do about it so you might as well just carry on as you are. if bone were displaced then it will have swollen by now. Just suck it up for another month and try to keep the weight off it and it'll be fine

broken toes don't get cast. It's quite common to break your little toe during the year.

Pretty sure I've currently broken the bone right under my right hand middle finger knuckle. Can't be cast, so meh. No reason to have it checked.

I snapped my thumb when I was little, parents refused to believe it was broken till they finally caved and took me for an x-ray a few days later.
