Possible GTX 670 release on 10th May

Well I've already got my HIS IceQ 7950 so I'll stick with that for the time being. Never doubted the 670 would be a great card, I just hope they have enough stock to keep you guys happy!

As far as I'm concerned this round has gone to Nvidia.

The 600 series is just plan better than the 7000 series from AMD.

Also the Nvidia drivers have some real features baked in to them.

AMD, take one step forward and two steps back with their drivers at the moment.

If it really is just over £300 I think I'll wait it out for them to fall slightly, or for TWO to get me a nice deal :)

I know what I want :)

I'm not going to start the 600 vs 7xxx series debate. They're similar performance wise (with tweaks/oc's etc...), but the 600 is quieter, so it's what I'll be buying. After Fermi, I'll happily pay a silence premium.

ohh dear just seen this thread, but ive just ordered the asus 7970, for £359 but my order is still on hold while phantek cooler stock comes available, not sure if i should wait and get the 670 or just stick to what i will be getting with the original order!!?

yeah i think i might have to wait for 4 days, but thinking weather the price and overclocking on the 670 will be able to match or be better than the 7970?
also the Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II has a nice cooler on it, and i got it on the deal!!!

Rumors are the 670 clocks to 680 speeds 'with ease' implying there may be headroom past the 680 stock clocks too.

Only 4 days to go though, I would expect to see more benches etc... in the coming days.

Who'd have thought spending money could be so hard, a week ago I was 110% dead set on going 680 SLI, now this rears its head :p

I was about to make an expensive mistake and buy a 680 today. But im gonna get 2 670 instead. My budget is £650, do you think that will be enough for 2 non reference cards.

Also i havent had a nvidia card since the 280gtx and i went with bfg but there gone now. So who does everyone recommend now then?

I'd take that preview with a mahoosive pinch of salt. Why would Nvidia release a card that is virtually on par with the 680 for around a hundred quid less? That's them shooting themselves in the foot, and with supply problems for their 680 cards due to demand/low yields they can charge massive prices that mugs will pay. If it is true however, sign me up =)

I'd virtually given on on good cards for reasonable prices ever since the release of the 7XXX/ GTX6XX ranges!

AMD released the 7950 which was close to it's bigger sister in benchs and this also was £100 cheaper if my memory serves me correctly.
