I've noticed some play on the steering shaft, I can push the wheel (upwards mostly) about 2mm and it feels like something is loose. It's like this, with the same noise:

Got it in january from **gos. I should return it really and get a repair or replacement would you say? Wheel still performs fine but I'm worried about it getting worse. I'm well within a year, and their T&C says "If you've had the product for up to 1 year, we'll repair the product or, if that's not possible, give you a replacement or, if that's not possible, a refund."

I don't think I abuse the wheel, but occassionally in the heat of going for a fast laptime, I can be aggressive with the wheel and might have caused it, I don't know.

Return it. That particular retailer are well known for not checking faults and just handing over replacements on the spot. Check online if they have one at your local store and go get it exchanged.

Sods law, I can't find the receipt just when I need it. I've got an email though from them in january confirming my reservation number. I wonder if they can check back to that time on their computers. Otherwise, I'll need to go through Logitech. I believe Logitech would just need the serial number of the wheel?

e-mail logitech support, i had a problem with the same wheel, different fault, didnt have my reciept, took some pics of seriel numbers, they sent me a new one out within 2 weeks, excellent service, and i got to keep my old wheel

And you got to keep your old wheel? Whoa, that's amazing. Hope I get the same luck.

Update. I got this reply below from Logitech today. I then rang the shop's CS and they said if I paid for it with cash it's untraceable and to see if my bank can show a statement with the purchase in january if it was by debit. She gave me a reference number too. I can then use that to get a repair/replacement. My accountant has my statements so I'll pop into the bank today. If there's nothing on my statement, I hope Logitech will still replace it?

if you cannot get it replaced at the retailer, just tell Logitech you do not have your receipt, that's what i did, and they agreed to send a new one out after showing them the numbers on the bottom of the wheel

Thanks, yeah, I went to my bank today and they're useless, they only keep records of bank statements up to 3 months ago. So it'll take 10 days to get it from their archives. Logitech will close my case in 7 days. So I emailed Logitech to say I don't have my receipt and asked what is the next step. So maybe I'll get another response tomorrow. I sent them the numbers yesterday, accompanied by a photo I took of the numbers on the bottom. I also made sure part of my logitech MX518 mouse was in view, just so they know I'm a fanboy :p

sounds like the process i had tbh, had to send pics of my pid number a few times as it had smudged

Well they didn't ask me for a pic tbh, but since there's an attachment option on the form I filled in, I thought I'd attach a pic to further verify my numbers, just in case it helps.

Got this email today from them. Looks like they'll be collecting my wheel.

" could you please send us ;

- a picture of the product's front side. Kindly hand-write your incidence reference number on a piece of paper and place it beside your Logitech product on the photo,
- a picture of the product's back side. Kindly hand-write your incidence reference number on a piece of paper and place it beside your Logitech product on the photo,
- a picture of the product's PID Label. Kindly hand-write your incidence reference number on a piece of paper and place it beside your Logitech product on the photo,
- Shipping address.
- Contact number.

Referance Number : ............

After we receive the required pictures, we can arrange free pick of your product."

weird, i had a stuck button on mine, they just replaced it with very little fuss

Yeah, and all I've read on this forum is about tons of people that got immediate replacements and still kept their old product, some of which have had theirs for much longer or even out of warranty. I guess I'm like a big kid and want the same treatment :p I just wrote back and said this:

" Hello Kadir B,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, no problem, I will happily take photos for you of the front, back and PID labels of the wheel, with my hand written reference number placed besides the wheel in each photo, and give you my shipping address and contact number. I sent you a photo yesterday as an attachment, of the underside of my wheel with PID numbers, but it is no problem at all for me to take more photos with the handwritten reference number next to it.

However, I don't know if "we can arrange free pick of your product" means you will pick a replacement and ship it to me or if means you will collect my wheel first. The wheel is working but I believe it's going to deteriorate so I feel it does need replacing. But I don't wish to be without my wheel for any time as I'm involved in a racing competition and cannot afford to be without the wheel. Could you please advise further. Sorry to be difficult! Regards,..
"

Bank told me my statement from january should be with me a lot sooner than they first said. I ended up cancelling the logitech collection in an effort to save them the trouble, confident I would now have what I need and I'd be able to pop down to the shop and pick up a replacement much faster. Doh! Statement came through the next day but no record of my purchase, so it must have been with cash. Oh well, I'll open a new case with Logitech or re-open the last one.

Result!:) Opened a new case with Logitech on the phone. Very nice chap I spoke to, sounded like he had a dutch accent or similar. I said "I heard Logitech have very good customer service" to which he said "well thank you".
Thought I'd throw that in to start things off nicely with him :p. They asked for 2 pictures, one of general view of the wheel, and one of underside with numbers showing, both with handwritten reference number included in photos next sitting next to wheel. I went one better though, I actually did 4 photos, 2 of general view and 2 of underside with reference number included, plus, I made a video of me demonstrating the wheel looseness, also including the handwritten reference number. Here's another vid I made of my wheel yesterday, doing the same as the one I sent, only this one is obviously without the reference numbers included.

So yes, Logitech are really everything everyone has been saying about them. Super efficient, and excellent RMA service. Just makes me want to buy more of their products. If only they started making mechanical backlit keyboards, I'd be the first customer.

well its clearly a fault mine doesn't do anything like that.. logitech is great tho.. emailed about my out of warranty DFP and they gave me 50% voucher so got the DFGT for 59.99

good ol logitech :D

Yep, looks like they're not collecting my old wheel either.

I emailed back saying my thank you's and saying how he proved everyone right that said how good their CS is, and also asked them if they might produce mechanical keyboards, as I'd buy one. I'll see if he knows anything about that. :)
