Is there any confirmation of 4GB only?

I don't believe this, even if there's only more on the absolute flagship, it would be suicide to release only 4GB cards this year.

I expect,

(£850+) Titan X 12GB VS AMD 3XX 8GB HBM (£650+)
(£550) GTX 980 Ti VS AMD 3XX ????? (£500+)
(£350) GTX 980 4GB VS AMD 380X 8GB GDDR5 (£300)

4GB only would be suicide..

They're going down the ******* any how. May as well go out with a bang :p

vram usage goes up every year without fail
& single gpu is unlikely to be enough going forward on these crazy res

shared memory seems the way to go, AMD is always looking far ahead but the software is never ready for them lol
i dont think its bad news i think it will be interesting :)

Even though I have said many times that I think it will be 4GB only at first, this doesn't make any sense.

We've had supposedly official leaked AMD slides talking about dual link interposers (which wouldn't be needed if it was only 4GB) and how HBM gen2 will remove the need for them.

If your flagship card only has 4GB then you don't launch your tier 2 cards with 8GB.

I know it is the nature of these card launches, but there are too many rumours that completely conflict with one another.

Let me see... 10 times the memory bandwidth of Titan x with half the power consumption.

I would trade that for the extra 4 gigs of vram.

Peeps over estimate the hunger for 4k 8gb products over faster 1080p/1440p/1600p products at 4gb.

Yeah ok, I had to turn down the AA in a couple of titles on my 980s at 4k but I would choose the faster 4gb card and do some graphics options tweaks at 4k with the assumption of a 35% speed hike over the 290x 4gb in all situations.

10 times the memory bandwidth ?

TX has around 350GB/s with an overclock and if the 390X is 10 times it will have 3500GB/s ?

Well if these cards don't ship with 8GB then it's just going to drive me towards the 980ti, having upgraded to 4k my 970's 3.5GB just cant cut it in AAA titles!

Need moar VRAM!

It would be utter madness to release the 390X with 4GB yet have the 380X ship with 8GB

Its getting close to the official announcement of it, as the anticipation builds so will the hype, each tech site will be trying to out hype eachother in whatever way they think will be the biggest story to get the most forum link-backs.

PCPer have a video up with someone who i don't recognise but is apparently someone and someone who has had one, he is quite adamant it will be 8GB, the next day the 4GB brigade refresh their rhetoric, predictable....

Its going to get worse as the few remaining weeks become days.

I have never known a card to be so much talked about.

Half the power consumption as well lol.

You think the 390x is going to use under 150w?

Somehow I can't see the 390X having 10x times the bandwidth of the TX with half the power consumption, Gotta be realistic, Based on current info it will be a 250w GPU with around 600GB/s bandwidth.

you wouldn't dream of a buying a 4GB card for 4K Gaming .......so my guess is this 4GB 390X is BS, it'll be 8gb only.

it doesn't matter if it's 15% faster than a TX, because if it's only 4gb then nobody will ever buy it.

Nothing wrong with using a single 4gb card for 2160p.

IF the 390X is 15% faster than the TX, What is the point in releasing the 980 Ti as it's a TX with less memory, Doesn't make sense to me TBH especially if the 390X is the same price and/or cheaper than the 980 Ti.
