For me personally the silence is making me want a Fury X even more, im just hoping it performs as well as i hope.

It had the direct opposite effect on me. I wanted to go red this time around as i usually go green-red-green-red unless there is a big enough price or performance difference between the 2 brands. Problem for me was that there were/are no confirmed performance details available for the fury or the 390/390x and as i needed a new card i was left with AMDs current 200 series offerings or nvidia... Made no sense to me to wait for something that may be as good or better..or neither.. Now if i have had some confirmed benchmarks or something to keep me interested i most likely would have waited but i didn't.

I think im not alone in this regard.

Yeah i don't blame you for not waiting but because 980ti is sold out almost everywhere i thought i might aswell wait and if they perform equaly by the time the Fury X is out the o80ti will be back in stock and i can choose

Depends which model you're after. They are available as we speak.

So you bought a 980ti just a couple of weeks before the AMD launch, talk about being impatient..

I didn't see any benchmarks for the 980ti before it's launch so why would AMD leak theirs? It's not AMD's fault if there are impatient people who can't wait short periods of time.
If the Fury is better I expect good competition in prices so those who have the patience will no doubt reap the reward as they will be able to choose the card they want at a better price.

He chose what was right for him, no one should have a problem with that.

Well tbf, since the 980ti is basically a cut down tx, it was pretty easy to get an idea of what performance was going to be like. With the new AMD cards particularly the fury as its all new there's nothing we can compare it too. Hence so much speculation in this thread.

Doesn't seem like there will be any surprises come the 16th... we know what the Fury X looks like now, and its specs are all but confirmed. That said, the non-AIO Fury Third party cards have yet to break cover, so that will prove interesting. Most important thing by far though is the BENCHMARKS... that's the big mystery right now. Also the price of course (absolutely crucial assuming it performs well), and when it's actually going to be available!

Is there any AMD Manufactures with world wide warranty like EVGA. I am over in the states in 4 weeks and the prices of a 980Ti quiet a bit cheaper than here in the UK, assuming the Fury X will be the same then I would buy either one of the whilst out there. Also can grab a TX for £600 there too.

So if the Fury X is faster than the 980Ti do we think Nvidia will just **** on the Titan X and release a 980Ti Ultra or something, ie a full fat Maxwell clocked at 1200mhz or something to take back the crown?

We know how they always like to have the fastest card.

Doubt it, i dont think they would kill their halo product

Personally interested in the VRAM capacity aswell but you are spot on.

Id like to know this too but I think EVGA is the probably the only one with such good warranty.

The issue that worried me was returning from the US with it in my luggage and being pinged for duty/taxes which would negate a lot of savings.

EVGA dont make AMD cards I dont think, which also is an issue.

EVGA don't make AMD cards. I forgot about declaring at the airport (Like anyone does).

I go every year and bring back new CPU each time as it is a lot cheaper over there. With the Fury being new tech, I wouldn't want to have to send it back for any recall reasons etc.

Yeah. I just noticed that you can get a Titan X Hybrid for $1100 over there. £700. Thats pretty crazy for a card thats about £1100 here.

No whispers of a dual gpu fury card yet hmm. Guess it would be £1500 again anyway.

Also why the heck can't anyone release a mega overclocked titan X with a custom cooler on it? You get a few 1500mhz samples out for £1300 and you basically match 295x2 with single gpu which would certainly warrant the premium for 4k gamers.

Can't see the fins of the rad either but i'm guessing it's made for fast loud fans, that's gotta be a loud ass fan on there.. no mistaking it.

Ok i'll shut up about the fan now :D

They look like Gentle Typhoons the 1850 RPM versions are one the quietest fans you can buy or should I say used to be able to buy..

There so quite I have to look to make sure there still spinning.
