I used to be very anti-apple.

The last year, bought a macbook pro for work, followed by an ipad mini, and I don't hate them quite as much any more I must say.

Their decisions sometimes leave a lot to be desired from a customer perspective. It's sometimes like they both love and loath their customers in equal measure

I'm sat on a iMac at work now. It's great for what I want it to do, however I loath the stupid magic mouse. I've been used to the comfortable Deathadder at home for years now, so this puny little claw grip mouse cramps my hand.

Also the stupid gloss screen. I work in a well lit office so any dark colours may as well be a mirror.

10fps under what circumstances?

10fps more than 50fps is awesome. 10fps more than 100fps is not.

at a res of 2560 it's 15FPS more than the 290X.....50FPS to 65FPS
and 10fps more than the GTX980, so yes it's actually quite powerful

more importantly, it's miles more powerful in Crossfire than the 295X2, 40fps more at 2560 .....flipping heck

Only apple things I use is a iphone, used to have a ipod but theres no need for them now theres the iphone. don't see the need in a ipad either, iphone does everything a ipad does but it has a bigger screen. When I wake up in the morning I read the web on my iphone, if theres anything I need to do fast and need a bigger screen for, I fire up my my pc, why go half way and hold a bigger screen in your hand and sit in a awkward position to use it, you can read your iphone laid on your side under the quilts and use one hand to scroll about the screen, cant do that with a ipad lol.

Not interested in CPU's until AMD get cracking on their 16nm Bulldozer/Vishera replacement. thats a year away.

LOL,I only got back online just now. Reading through what I said it did sound a tad aggressive,although it could be partly due to the fact I have spent the last few days at home with flu.

The HD7950 3GB was £350ish and matched the price of the GTX580 1.5GB,and the HD7970 3GB was priced around £420+ and was close to the price of the GTX580 3GB and the multi-monitor capable GTX580 cards(like the Galaxy one).

When I was in academia,a lot of labs had Apple computers and there were decent discounts for universities which actually made the products quite price-competitive with higher end Dell PCs,etc.

However,in terms of reliability and lack of problems they are really overrated - too much of its buried. Yet there are people who still go on how PCs are worse than Macs and yet the £300 10 year old Dell attached to an instrument with no maintenance would be still working fine.
