Why so many small postboxes in one place. Don't think I want to know what is happening in that car at the back...

Well put it this way, the 970 Strix is dead silent (only a 30% overclock) and most of the time the fans aren't even spinning ;)

heat/ power consumption........... no contest, because the only 290Xs that i was interested in where the MSI Lightnings, but in Crossfire ???? no i dont think so, in comparison, the 970s handle the heat/ power easily

Crossfire fire with msi 290x and 290 and my temps hang around 70s low 80s depending on game and of I uncapped frame rate.
The lightning with its much better cooler would be even better.

Really?! So that's why no one ever receives any of my letters..

Haven't you heard of electronic mail? All the youngsters use it these days. I think you post your letter in the slot on the front of your computer case and the internet does the rest

not according to AMD Matt, he said it gets quite hot in there, but i cant be bothered to find his post

I have 290x / 290p crossfire, and it does get very warm without decent ventilation. I have a PCI exhaust fan just below each card, which helps immeasurably.

.

And if such a feature is so important and a priority in general in the main then we would all be using Strix coolers and it makes the non Strix NV cards also noisy in comparison.

yes you should :D because i cant understand why that lot brought the MSI 970 instead, just because it's a few frames faster...... come on, the Asus Strix is pure quality.

it has one fault..... the voltage is locked :(

we must be fair, this doesn't mean the 390X will run hot, but we're talking about the 380X which looks like a rebranded 290X, you wait for the postings if it is :D:D:D.... it's going to be so funny, the thread will be trolled like crazy, i can hardly wait ;)

As with the last time you posted a link and said smoother frames - there are no frame times in that review so I've no idea what we're meant to be basing your conclusion on.

Ahh, the gaps between releases of interesting computer parts seem so very long! :( I realise it wasn't actually all that long ago that the 9xx series nVidia cards came out, but still feels like an eternity. Come on AMD, give me something to read! :p

My bad! here is frame times! amd have very poor frame times.

So Mal X all the after market 290x coolers are noisy and 2" from the back of the cards which most users never play that close.

37 at gaming is crazy! gaming on the asus on load will be the same as your 290x fan speed noise on idle.

Just have to wait and see if AMD is going to flop we all know they are full of hype a lot of the time.
