Final8y Don't react mate, thats crossed the line ^^^

Indeed as i didn't actually specifically say he was accepting the rumor as fact.

accepting the rumors as fact or very likely
which he said to the same effect himself
with a high degree of probability
and most of my comments was about in general what people do when they believe so and when they dont or when they think its a maybe.

looks like nvidia provide the smoother frames in all games
As with the last time you posted a link and said smoother frames - there are no frame times in that review so I've no idea what we're meant to be basing your conclusion on.

Ahh, the gaps between releases of interesting computer parts seem so very long! :( I realise it wasn't actually all that long ago that the 9xx series nVidia cards came out, but still feels like an eternity. Come on AMD, give me something to read! :p

pretty good, any complaints i just say told you so

Yeah but you said you could take 4 inches but only provided 3.5 inches and the last half inch was noticeably smellier than the rest :(

I'm going with a single 980 at the moment and will wait out for the 390/390x to be released, if it's anything special I'll sell my green team card and opt for 2 of the red team ones, if not then it's another 980 for me to sli.

I was hoping they wouldn't be :( there were articles saying the 380x was going to have hbm ect ect.

What's worrying though is one of the high end 300 series got benchmarked and temps on load was 73c and that was it liquid cooled! it should be way below that!.

so if these temps are true then aftermarket companys are going to have a hard time with the 300 series trying to keep temps down.

The card doing the rounds as the 380X was and is HBM. As are its superiors (390/390x etc).

The only way the '380X' won't have HBM is if they changed the naming scheme, and it becomes the 390.

If this eventuates, it probably means that AMD delayed Bermuda because Fiji is fast enough to fill their high end and still spank NVIDIA for the time being.

The high-performance Radeon R9 380/380X will be powered by the code-named “Grenada” graphics chip that will be a revamped version of the “Hawaii” GPU. The novelty will sport 2816 stream processors, 512-bit GDDR5 memory bus and will offer performance comparable to that of the Radeon R9 290/290X. It is unclear whether the chip will feature any architectural improvements over existing GPUs.

so the new 380X looks like a bore fest, with the 390X not that exciting either, so it looks like i'll be sticking with Nvidia.....this is a big disappointment........if true !

with the 970 no where near the dreaded 3.5 RAM limit on 1080p, i'm bloody glad i've kept mine

I think its quite exciting on the other hand, what can AMD do to improve hawaii. They need around 1250mhz clock to even match a stock 980, even more if you compare the OC possibilities of the 980. Maybe they implement some features seen in Tonga, to make it faster. Also they need to work on efficiency, the hawaii chips needed a lot of voltage to even reach 1200mhz, so they clearly need to improve on this side too.

Hmm, so you're happy with the 970.. 3.5GB + 0.5GB, but the idea of a 4GB HBM graphics card with around the 3 times the bandwidth and 4000+ cores isn't that exciting, and the 970 is... You have a weird logic their mate tbh.

These cards will no doubt be awesome as will GM200. I only wish they would all get released sooner !

Anything that is new will be interesting, from anyone!

Why is the 390x "not that exciting either"?

There's nothing more exciting on the immediate horizon.

I understand the apathy towards 380x, though.

not if it's a rebranded 290X :p dont forget that the 970 is superior to the 290X in quite a few other ways (at 1080p) ................plus do you believe all that BS.....after all this is AMD we're talking about, which usually means far too much heat and noise ;)

the 390X ?????...........well maybe..........but lets face it, we have no idea what these AMD cards will be like.

according to that graph, my 970 is nowhere near 3.5 at 1080p , more like 2.5 RAM.

yes this wait is stupid and a real deal breaker for AMD... because this wait makes me think more and more about the Titan Z, because 2 weeks ago i was really fed up with Nvidia but not now, the ship has sailed AMD missed it

So Mal X all the after market 290x coolers are noisy and 2" from the back of the cards which most users never play that close.

Well put it this way, the 970 Strix is dead silent (only a 30% overclock) and most of the time the fans aren't even spinning ;)

heat/ power consumption........... no contest, because the only 290Xs that i was interested in where the MSI Lightnings, but in Crossfire ???? no i dont think so, in comparison, the 970s handle the heat/ power easily
