Just watch out on Wednesday. ;)

How many threads will be started... :D

Hopefully it comes out. I will grab one for LOLs if it's under 700.

you've only got 8 weeks and it could be announced next month for a release date on the 1st of June :D:D

the problem is it's so damned boring to wait, that i'm tempted to buy at the end of this week

but it's not a priority, because getting my RIG fixed is and it's still bust a week later

I want to see what all this HBM fuss is about to be honest.

meh yet another week goes by with zero news from AMD.. the wait goes on, i had a long think about buying Nvidia over the weekend and come to the conclusion i just cant bring myself to do it, i hate the idea of being ripped off for Gsync and their over inflated GPU prices.

So its going to have to be AMD again, and Freesync, and just play the waiting game to see if the 390X materialises, and also grab myself that IPS Freesync 1440p 144hz screen if it gets decent reviews.

both Gibbo and Matt have said ``nothing till june`` and AMD never leak anything first, but we'll almost deffo hear something in the last two weeks.

this is a huge mistake from AMD because as soon as you've got the money in your pocket you want to spend it, so it's very hard to resist the TX.

But heed this ;) you will get used to the TX very quickly, it'll only be a thrill for a day and then you might regret it.

Because the TX will be a huge mistake if :-

1..........the 390X is the same power but only £600

now will it ?????????? very very interesting

well i deffo wont buy a 390X till i've read all the reviews/ benches first

to be fair its going to be better than the 290X, i have a 290p, im buying a monitor upgrade this year, so more than likely Freesync, even if the 390X is only 30% faster than the 290X thats enough for me, especially if it doesnt involve some wack AIO cooler.

Then it leaves me room to add a 2nd one later. I do however have the feeling HBM is going to be a game changer, coupled with DX12 coming end of the year / next year, i really think the landscape is going to change.

I knew well before purchasing that AMD "might" come out with something faster and cheaper.

I'm happily playing my games with no issues ATM. Price and/or performance is not the only thing you look at when purchasing, especially when you have first hand experience from both manufacturers on current gen hardware.

We will have to wait and see ofcourse how this turns out.

the TX will be perfect for me............but i have to wait because i feel obligated to give AMD another try, and i've said many times here that i will

but my resolve is deffo weakening fast :(

I caved in even though I voted NO on the poll and said I would wait to see what AMD has to offer (i'm not the patient type ;)).

Anyway what is done is done. Now if AMD would be kind enough to atleast release some kind of press release for the specs (VRAM especially) and cooling ...

Time for me to join the gaming enthusiasts club.

I've been going back and forth deciding how much to spend on a GPU and which one to get. But after some convincing I'm increasing my GPU budget to around £500. So now this card could be a possible option.

You reckon it'll be much better than a 295x2? Because that's £500 and if this 390x is around £500 then it would be between those two cards as my Asus P8P67 only supports crossfire.

Come on AMD, give some news..

I seriously doubt it'll be better than a 295x2 [with working crossfire]

A Titan X isn't better than a 295x2, and the rumours (if they can even be believed) put the 390x within 10% of that card.

The 295X2 is about 20% faster than the TitanX and more than 85% the performance of a 290X. It will be a tall order to match the 295X2 but if if comes close then it would be the card to have since it would be a single gpu card.

Matching a 295x2, LOL.
That would be a tall order for a new card on a die shrink, let alone one still stuck on 28nm.

yeah, this has pretty much never happened even with a die shrink.

Something between the 980 and the TX is the realistic estimate.

At best case scaling the 295x2 is 190% the performance of a 290X.

If rumours are true:

First add at least +10% for Texture Compression and Tiling 'Tonga'

(= real performance)

Hawaii: - Tonga +10% (= 110%)
Hawaii: 64 ROP's - Fiji: 128 ROP's + 100% (+20%) (= 130%)
Hawaii: 2816 Shaders - Fiji: 4096 Shaders +45% (+35%) (= 165%)
Hawaii: 1Ghz - Fiji: 1.05Ghz +5% (+3%) (=168%)

HBM
Memory Bandwidth
Hawaii: 320 GB/s - Fiji: 1024 GB/s +230% (=???%) (needs +20%)

Of course its all just my opinion but i do think i'm being a little bit cautious on the performance gains the Hardware gives without HBM.

I think its entirely possible.
