there's two versions, water and air...........this photo we're seeing is the WCE version.

this WCE version is the one to super tune, it's the next MSI Lightning.........the Air cooled version is the 390, so it's exactly the same as the 290..290X...............except this 290X is now Watercooled, it's a good idea too

Strange how two air cooled 290Xs are faster than a 295X2 lol.

I wouldn’t be optimistic AMD will even have launch drivers for these cards! :p

I know your only teasing but I really hope this is why their driver support has been so poor lately because they are getting these new cards running great as I can only imagine completely changing the memory system has quite a big impact on the how you program you driver.

When is the next official update on these?

The next official update will probably be when they are announced, which will hopefully be here.

Most people seem to think reveal @ computex, deep dive + live demo stations @ E3.

I think we will probably get the reveal, initial slide barrage and launch date at Computex and E3 will be all about VR VR VR.

as far as i saw AMD mostly working on software stuff for vr? i mean rather than releasing a headset or something
ive not seen any headsets id want to use for long, agree the weight is big issue for me too, the headsets, not saying im fat >.<

the windows one looked pretty cool huh, want to see more of that

Drumming up the VR prematurely seems like a bit of a daft move by AMD at this point, seeing how Oculus Rift is still like a year away from hitting retail... And by that time the next round of cards sporting HBM2 and the new die-shrink will be close as well.

VR for gaming to the masses is years away, the specs to run it to an acceptable base standard are very high for the average consumer/gamer(4690k/970) according to occulus.

The recommended specs are bogus. You can run all the high profile oculus content on much less expensive hardware and get a perfectly acceptable experience.

All you have to do is lower the graphics settings in the games you're running. And honestly with the resolution you have at your disposal it's actually pretty damn hard to tell a difference between low and high graphics.

Speaking from experience.

Yep. Only trolling. :p

They must be up to something. My guess is yes, optimising drivers for the 300 series and getting DX12 up to scratch.

However, this just shows that they must have a small team. I’m sure Nvidia are busy working on DX12 as well, but they still have time to keep pace with new games as and when they come out.

It getting clearer that 390X is really not Fiji XT! It finally turned out to be just a rebrand of 290X.

So is Fiji XT will be called "Radeon" which DICE leaked pic?

This is a repeat of finding Hawaii branded as 390 in Drivers, what they don't know or are ignoring is OEM's have taken up existing GPU's as OEM Rebrands.

They can't sell the 290X right now at a price that turns a profit, they ain't going to do it by giving it a different name and charging £300+ for it.

Hawaii is GCN 1.1, already obsolete by AMD existing GCN 1.2 (Tonga)

The chances are what is talked about in here as the 300 series will actually end up as the 400 series and GCN 1.3 if not GCN 1.2.

Since a couple days, several speculations have popped up after the OEM series were declared as rebrands officially be AMD on their site
For OEM models yes but the new flagship will have HBM so it wont be a rebrand, It might well be a 490x or some othername

I really do hope your right, because we can all see how that just isn't going to work. But all the leaks are pointing towards Hawaii core with only a 50 MHz core bump and 250 MHz on the memory.
Saying that of course I think your right in that they all stem from the same driver info, so there is no way to confirm that it is true when it all comes from the same source.

We will know in about 2 weeks.
