Possible Test Drive Unlimited 2 information!

Yep, TDU wasn't a great game once you got pas t the initiative features but I just had fun driving around pretending I actually owned a Ferrari F40 :( must have clocked 2-3000 miles. Hoping TDU2 brings much of the same with better physics and more interesting scenarios for challenges.

Lets hope they've beefed up the pathetic npc driver's who would signal one way and turn the other at the last sodding moment just as you're speeding past...

First game was awesome but I remember it getting insanely hard with some of the races lasting hours (lap of the island anyone?)

New game is always welcomed though :)

Oh god that one....

I can remember nailing it in a Noble M400.

I tried it again the other evening (I still enjoy just cruising around occassionally) and damn it was hard. One wrong move (like crashing into the back of an NPC) and you may as well restart.

Some details have been revealed:

Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be set on Ibiza, as opposed to the first game's Oahu setting. Apparently, this means that the playable area is 2.5 times bigger, and has a greater variety of terrain through forests, plains, mountains, ruins, and cities.

The mag scans also reveal that there'll be co-op support, with one player acting as map reader, and SUVs, so that you can drive off-road and explore the island a bit more. Don't forget the real damage models, either.

2.5 times bigger area because Ibiza is more accessible by roads than Oahu?

I'm not gonna bother unless Hardcore mode is unlocked from the start and you don't have to pay for it. That was a joke in the first game, but if the hardcore is nearly as realistic as Forza 2 then I may pick it up to muck about drifting, I can't imagine myself taking it seriously though, at least nowhere near as much as I did Forza 2 and 3

When you got to a 5 star rating in the last one (or before if you were nooby and didn't realise you still had to get to the 5 stars) you could pay 800MS points to unlock "hardcore" mode. This basically meant no traction control or stability, added force feedback, and meant you could drift reasonably well and added some realism to the game, it was mainly to please those who had MS wheels which were only very poorly supported by the game pre-Hardcore mode.

i.e. if there's a reasonably realistic option to turn off TCS and Stability management at the start then I may get the game, or at least rent it.
