next time: microwave for 5mins per spud, then wack in the oven @ 180c for 40-70mins, ohh and take it out before it goes BLACK :D :p

Heathen. Never microwave a spud.

Do not wash or *****, if you have to wash it let it dry. Rub with all over with olive oil, salt and place uncovered on the bars of the oven. If you have too in a baking tray 200 degress or gas mark 6 for an hour to an hour and a quater.

Microwaves are good for nothing except blowing things up.

microwaving for 5mins makes sure it aint hard in the middle, it does not affect the taste or anything!

now people that do baked tates in nothing but the microwave......
 
microwave is all good.. it does all the cooking, they u can put it in the over for a while to crispen it up and drastically reduce your cooking time.

as for the size ive seen bigger... one time on holiday we were having a quick lunch and i got a jacket potato with chicken mayo sweetcorn ... and that thing literally was about a foot long covering an entire large plate.. was awsome :D
