possibly the right forum? random errors crashes and all kinds of nonsense

Ah well after formatting it doesn't tell me it is fake anymore. That was just a dumb issue that happena aometimes with new hardware. My copy is definitely lefit5.

That BSOD seems to indicate a paging file error (probably due to the strange behaviour your describing the page file is getting trashed by the memory leak or whatever) - usually its either RAM problem, HDD issue or HDD controller/cable issue for that BSOD but what your describing sounds more like some kind of out of control DRM, rootkit or other malware or a seriously bugged driver.

EDIT: What are your page file settings? (from the task manager screenshots can kind of guess but not 100%) and have you used any SSD "optimisation" software i.e. samsung magician?

...well...problem seems solved. at least it worked perfectly fine last night.

i showed my friend my bios screen and he said disable that 1394 socket. so i did. and then my memory sat at a nice 6gb for 4 hours straight, even through several games of ME3.

so...that was...weird
