Somewhere in here :)

@Gregster - don't think there's been a single dual VRAM dual GPU card made? Not one be heard of. (excluding the mars and ares cards)

I have not heard of one either except as you say the Mars and Ares cards. Maybe those 2 could give one of the manafacturers inspiration... If they did, I am sure I could get a second mortgage :p

looking forward to this, my only concern when buying is how long before the 'superclocked' series appear? Wasn't it about a month for the 680? And what after that? I hedged my bets on waiting to see what appeared and I'm not sure if I'd be annoyed at having a card on release just for it to be stumped a month later.

Lets not forget, this is possibly £800 were talking, somethings going out of a window if it gets beat in a month!

OMFG :0!!!

Is this youtube video legit??? He's talking about 2 actual gtx680's on 1 pcb and not downclocked....

Have no idea but would be  if so the design alone is tempting me to switch over my order from 4GB KFA2's in SLI

If it's £800 I'd probably switch from my KFA2 order but surely it'll be slightly higher ? or is the incentive to stop people from going SLI with 2GB 680's at that price and just stumping up for one of these monsters instead.

I would also throw something out the window but we'd still have the live with it :D

Looks like I'll wait more info and when are these meant to be released ?

Gibbo said reference only for the 690.

Thats my point, at least to start off with. I never expected clocked 680's to come out as soon as they did, thought itd be at least a couple of months before they apppeared. Still I think im going to save my cash on this one, theres no way I personally can justify £800.

Credit card is burning a hole in my pocket though :)

Yeah, they are downclocked he's just an idiot, around 10% lower clocks than stock, not that it matters much. 590gtx had 2 full cores downclocked, the 6990 had the same, the 5970 the same, the 4870x2. Last card I think with two cut down cores was probably the 295gtx which iirc had a few rops and less memory bandwidth but all the shaders of a 280gtx so it was somewhere inbetween a 280 and a 260gtx.

Two full cores isn't rare, its prefered, more shaders at a lower clock and voltage will generally use less power than less shaders and a higher clock, higher voltage to achieve the same level of performance.

Core clocks on the GK104s drop just a little, though, from a 1006 MHz base down to 915 MHz. Setting a lower guaranteed ceiling is a concession needed to duck in under a 300 W TDP. However, in cases where that power limit isn’t being hit, Nvidia rates GPU Boost up to 1019 MHz—just slightly lower than a GeForce GTX 680’s 1058 MHz spec.

i've never seen it on 3 screens before, it looks awfall... how can you enjoy looking at 3 screens....it's so unnatural

Vega has placed a fresnel lens in front of the monitors, so that from the viewing position you see only a 1-2mm gap between the displays. That, along with the CRT smooth motion, is the icing on his panoramic cake. See the thread here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18378379

Yeah, the 690 is the closest i've saw a dual GPU card get to matching two discrete cards, and keep the TDP at 300w.

Will be interesting to see how AMD play it, don't see how its possible for the 7990 to beat the 690 without going over 300w.
Probably best they go the dual bios route again, that way many sites can review it with both, but will be weird to see that its AMD now who are likely to be releasing the more power hungry and late card.

I won't know without digging his original post up but I think it was reference only cards for good for 690's. Not 100% sure though.
