Post count

Why do you seem incapable of having a proper discussion about this? Your posts in this thread have been rather petulent. I'm not sure why you have such a problem?
You make it sound like this is a major decision and that we require your consent to do these things. You can count on one hand the number of people that care and I get the impression that they just enjoy having a good moan, you certainly do. You've been complaining about mods not stop for years after getting upset in the f1 threads.

Has someone that got scammed on mm threatened to sue ocuk or some nonsense?

It takes an extreme amount of effort to spam 1000 posts or whatever when Facebook Gumtree eBay etc exists and pretty much every one there's a moron.

But yeah keeping mm decent is a good thing either way.

It's not as simple as that. There's also accounts that use the MM disproportionately once they gain access. In some cases posting 100s of times in the MM and only contributing <10 posts across the rest of the forums.

So why has it taken 12 pages for a mod to finally confirm this?

And if that is the case then instead of making GD posts worthless, why not just increase the requirements of both posts and membership length if you are having issues with MM integrity? It's a far fairer solution surely that keeps everyone happy.

Lets be fair for every good thread on GD worth reading, there's three full of people just arguing for the sake of it / getting into circular arguments. This thread is proof of that.

Maybe, with less incentive to argue the quality of threads will increase. I know you mention people adding "gooal" to the live footy threads - but that content is still more meaningful than the 13th argument on immigrants in a week between the same 5 posters.

People being encourage to participate in the sub-forums they have an actual interest in is a good thing to me.

Just my opinion.

I can set it to 10,000 posts if you’d like?

I hope that never happens! It's took me years to get this far, I would be dead before I ever made it to 10,000 :D I couldn't give a stuff what my post count is really at the end of the day, as it's not an important metric to my life. It would just be nice to get into MM at some point for second hand parts etc.

Because ATI ATI ATI posts would get deleted. It would never get deleted in a footy thread. It's running commentary and wouldn't be considered spam. I thought that was pretty obvious.
You thought wrong.

Turning off post counts to protect MM doesn’t even concern you, as you are far in excess of the entry requirements.

You’re welcome to use ave about a giant orange banner and protest by gluing yourself to the road. I’ll even bring the glue.

Why do you seem incapable of reading? As we’ve already said, we make decisions and don’t need to consult the masses before we make them.

I'm not incapable of reading, you are just avoiding some very valid discussion points. Are we not allowed to criticise mod decisions on these forums without petulant responses?

If you don't want to consult the masses that's fine, but you should a least be able to explain the reasoning behind decisions for transparency and take onboard criticism even if you disagree with it. It seems you are unable to do so.

Most of the people complaining offer no value to the forums let alone GD.

Eh? All you’ve done is criticise and we’ve replied - you can keep complaining but it won’t change anything.

Because, the amount of crap which GD gets, you can get lost in spam and people abusing post counts for only getting into the MM. When it’s in a sub forum on specific subjects it’s a lot harder.

The MM is strict on rules, as it’s a community thing. There’s rules to uphold when you’re in there and more rules to gain access. It’s a privilege to use that sub section, not a right. It’s separate from the shop for a good reason and we and we only police it.

Do you really want users who post 1009 nonsense posts in x amount of time access to your money and goods, or do you want someone who genuinely add to the community?
I’d rather have someone who adds to the forum and not just take. You can decide which side you fall into.
You can easily weed out the spammers rather than lock GD post count.

By locking GD post count you’re actually hurting the people who do contribute to the forum.

Absolute nonsense. shouting "goal" adds nothing at all. At least the 5 or so people you mentioned are actually engaged in discussion. Whether its circular is neither here nor there, it still adds more than some throw away comment.

It might of helped hours ago then to confirm that that was the reason. Why it's been so cryptic is beyond me.
It’s not been cryptic. At all. You have had a bee in your bonnet about it. When it really doesn’t concern or affect you.
