Post count

You can easily weed out the spammers rather than lock GD post count.

By locking GD post count you’re actually hurting the people who do contribute to the forum.
Hurting how?

Show me on this doll, where you’re being hurt?

You’re not. The entry requirements which we set, and which doesn’t affect you, are none of your concern.

To be fair, the whole "life" section could be done away with, the only relevant part of the forum really is the hardware section and people discussing new hardware and offering advice on builds/upgrades, everything else is meaningless, nobody is hurt by GD posts not counting, yeah it's crappy the mods did it on the sly without telling anyone, but really who cares, it's just a silly number
I don't think it will stop a determined A hole spamming their way to scam or execute whatever nefarious plans....
There was some dude on a hardcore WoW private server who played with a guild for an entire year just for a single perfectly calculated moment fighting the only boss possible to do it to get them all killed and ruin their hardcore run, never underestimate the lengths people will go to, to achieve their goals no matter how nefarious

Oh ok, the 12 pages of this thread asking why the change was made must have been my imagination.
No, the 3 ‘proper’ sized pages full of your whine, has not increased your post count by one post. At all. And it won’t. So keep whining.

Check out some of the nutjobs in EVE online for proper corporate virtual espionage lol. I'm surprised no one's been murdered.

Absolute nonsense. shouting "goal" adds nothing at all. At least the 5 or so people you mentioned are actually engaged in discussion. Whether its circular is neither here nor there, it still adds more than some throw away comment.

To save (ironically) going into a circular argument with you - you are wrong. How do I know? I'm part of the team that have to keep cleaning up the mess in GD from the very kind of post I'm referring to.

Take it from experience and not your narrow experience.

to be honest it is a little cryptic, has anyone outright said yet why the change?
if yes, my bad i'll catch up with the thread.

yes but it took until post 236 to confirm. Before that the mods would not tell us and essentially told us it was none of our business and that they did not need to consult with us about decisions.

Yes we have; new accounts spamming GD to gain access to MM; which is the most locked down, strict requirements on the forum - to try to gain access to that section which could potentially harm users who use it correctly.

The MM isn’t for trading. It isn’t for people to take the ****, it’s a place for users to offload hardware and other things, to other users of the forum (hopefully for good prices, without ‘trading’ taking place). We heavily police the MM, as the forums are separate to the shop. If you get scammed for a CPU in the MM by someone who spammed their way into there for that sole intention, that’s on us. Not the shop.
