I don't think we can do negative post counts?!For fun mods should add a single post count reduction for every post in GD
Certainly a strange decision, and unanounced.Test.
Really don’t like this change, mods have made a very silly and petty mistake here.
To show how little I care about post counts, I've put mine back to what it should be (removed the 300k I added years ago) and removed the number of posts I've made in forums where it doesn't increment any more.I don't think we can do negative post counts?!
Is it all of the “life” section that doesn’t add any more to post count now? My post count will be the same for a while in that case.To show how little I care about post counts, I've put mine back to what it should be (removed the 300k I added years ago) and removed the number of posts I've made in forums where it doesn't increment any more.
It's a number, nothing more.
As @Dj_Jestar's signature says:
I think it still counts in Motors for some reason so get yourself a Ferrari like some of the mods and have at it!Is it all of the “life” section that doesn’t add any more to post count now? My post count will be the same for a while in that case.
I don't care about my post count..... now... but there was a time it would have sucked as I wanted access to MM. (I hope they don't retrospectively cut my posts )Interesting, I've only ever really posted in GD or Motors. They must've counted at some point.
No, La cuisine still raising post count. Is it all of the “life” section that doesn’t add any more to post count now? My post count will be the same for a while in that case.
Because there are a bunch of vagrants on the internet who come to forums to talk race, brexit, politics and other crap with no meaningful content generated. DigitalSpy(IIRC), HardForum etc. all got rid of the General Discussion threads because it was attracting non-techy people to talk nonsense. 'Rewarding' people who come here to do that with access to a community marketplace isn't the right thing to do; more so than giving people the right to use the marketplace. No, La cuisine still raising post count.
It really is a dumb decision. Yes there are rubbish posts in here at times, but some very good ones as well, like in the mortgage thread and images I’ve purchased etc. it’s not as if the rest of the forum is immune to dross. Some of the graphics card threads are just as bad as anything in GD
No consultation, no vote, no regard at all to forum members feelings on the subject, just a bunch of mods doing something silly for no reason at all.
We haven’t even been given an explanation on why it’s been done.
You've been here long enough to know how it works. No consultation, no vote, no regard at all to forum members feelings on the subject, just a bunch of mods doing something silly for no reason at all.
As you’re not a mod you are not in the position to explain the situationBecause there are a bunch of vagrants on the internet who come to forums to talk race, brexit, politics and other crap with no meaningful content generated. It is also super easy to rack up 1000 posts in GD and not get caught out, by the nature of the circular conversations about nothingness. There are LOTS of accounts with recent sign ups who appear to exclusively post there.
You are simping for mods yet seconds ago you were cross they made a decision? Textbook arm chair right whingerAs you’re not a mod you are not in the position to explain the situation
What? That the mods just run roughshod over the rest of us.You've been here long enough to know how it works.
That the forums aren't a democracy and never have been. What does it matter anyway, post count <> prizes (apart from new users who want the MM but you're not bothered about them). What? That the mods just run roughshod over the rest of us.
It should not apply to people who have been here a long time. New sign ups only.
Why? Have you not seen how many randomers have come out of the woodwork spamming other forums now to increase post count? They literally just come here to leverage the marketplace and add nothing to do the community. What? That the mods just run roughshod over the rest of us.
