Post in here if you're a Red Dwarf fan

I thought the last episode was alright, and in general the series was pretty good(apart from Lemons, which rivals Parallel Universe as worst episode ever for me). It still suffers from the Red dwarf problem of jokes that just don't belong in it, but that is just Red Dwarf.

One thing that totally baffles me though is how they can include a joke in that episode about Rimmer's last words......we already know they were Gazpacho soup.....there was a whole episode revolving around it ffs!:p Some might call it pedantic, but I couldn't laugh at it because of that, in fact it irked me a little and just got in the way.

Another series would be welcome. One thing I thought about this series was that they have definitely still got it, I didn't think they looked much older at all tbh. Scrap the studio audience and all will be good

Back To Earth wasn't crap because there was no audience....it was just crap!

I would take better writing over playing to the audience of which there was far too much in this series. Oh look Rimmer is pulling a face and the Cat is doing a silly dance...

Having never watched them in order and only seeing the odd episode when it's on, I've just started from S1 on Netflix this evening, moved onto S2.

Kryten looks rough in the early ones! I think I've only seen Rob Llewellyn as him before

Never knew the story about Cat's origin, loved that segment :)

Good series overall.

I don't know if they plan on another series but a lot of 'loose ends' such as Rimmers relationship with his father/brother have been resolved.

Definitely a series that seemed to target old and new fans which was nice to see. Completely agree with gettothechoppers analysis.

I would be very surprised if they didn't make another series. I think the crew were all getting into it again and they probably would like another paycheck. The problem is they need new ideas for stories. I felt this series was just reminiscing and Doug could do with someone to work with him or get some guest writers.

The one thing I didn't like was those silly machines that tried to crush lister. They looked cheap and unmenacing.

They will never be as good as the originals (time and place etc) but they are far better than the Kochanski/entire Red Dwarf crew ones.

Watched the first couple of new episodes and I totally agree so far. Actually had a few laugh-out-loud moments in the new ones......haven't experienced that from RD in quite some time!

Hehehe, blast from the past.
I'd completely forgotten about the 1st Kryten :D

Yeah, he looked shonky !!

David Ross - was meant to come back as Kryten in S3 onwards, but couldn't so Bobby Llew got the role.

David Ross did come back to The Dwarf through as the voice of Talkie Toaster. :D

*such a geek* ;)

Catching up on this, wtf is up with the mackem Jesus? Dear me.

Overall really enjoyed them, well worth watching and better than 7 & 8 IMO (I never watched back to earth after hearing such bad things - and why I'm catching up on this series now it's over after people said it was decent)

Btw the lad who plays young Rimmer nailed that part, probably the best actor in the whole series so far. :D
