Post your actual energy usage

I've been away for a few days at the start of this month. Useful to see what my house "costs" empty.

I left my hot water cylinder heating for a few days, that costs about 2.5kWh a day.

The house uses approx 5kWh a day sat empty This is with a kitchen fridge freezer, another undercounter freezer and (what burns the most) is the IT rack. Few switches, CCTV, plex server etc.

278 imported and 381 exported so a great start financially to the month :-)

Early update for 2024:

2024:
Gas: 6382 kWh
Elec: 1397 kWh

I moved at the start of the month so will be interesting to see what the new house is like versus the flat. Electricity use will be slightly lower as the shower is a boiler fed mixer bar, rather than an electric shower.

Dec 23 to Nov 24 - 5321 Electric and 9961 Gas.

Not bad considering the year the previous owner lived here - the year of which he was dead for about 5 months of it - he/we used 11988kwh of gas. Last year we used 11445 -- but that only reflected 4 months of benefit (insulation wasn't finished).

If December is roughly the same as last year I am on for almost ~20 reduction in bills.

Looks like I am up on electricity but I've added split A/C to the garden room, and a chest freezer.

Mine for the year so far.

Plus £750-800 FIT payments for generation.(rental)

Standing Charge not included in the cost.

No gas here out in the country.

2024 so far:
Elec = 6505 kwh (no electric vehicle)
Gas = 13547 kwh

I thought we were quite a high consumption household. We use a **** load of water as well. Bloomin teenagers.

Electric
1st Jan 24 - 1st Jan 25 - 10,602kwh
1st Jan 23 - 1st Jan 24 - 6,710kwh

Two EV's lead to quite a few electrons.

Gas usage isn't showing in my account atm.

This year so far:

9,000 kWH electricity which has cost just under €1,800.

Gas is harder to figure out as we have a 1,000kg cistern which is filled or topped up as required. We’re still using gas we purchased in summer 2023 when the price was low.

2024 so far:

3,980kWh electric (EV but low miles, one electric radiator, no solar or battery)
5,683kWh gas (combi boiler for heating and water, plus gas hob)

Our gas was disconnected in mid April so we are all electric now including our car:

Gas 5284 (Jan - April)

Electric Imported 6321

Electricity Exported 5728

Solar generation is 8015kwh (2287 was consumed directly with the rest exported as above).

I’ll do a round up at the end of the year but I expect the bill to be around £0.
