A proper BBQ uses charcoal.

What that is right there is just an outside cooker, may as well use ya in door cooker :p

the disposable ones arent great when you're camping and upon leaving you notice a huge black patch of grass left behind :eek:

once the food is cooked they make a nice little bonfire though :D

agreed with that, burning all the packaging left overs afterwards is the best part :cool:
 
i hope that you all know that you mustn't cook on these disposable barbeques untill the flames have gone out :eek:
 
For the self made brick bbq's, where do you get the grills from?

I've got a shedload of bricks left over from a house extension, so it would make sense to use them a build a bbq. Of course, as with all my great ideas, I have no idea how!

Get a kit from a garden centre or get some from an old oven

My BBQ – traditional oil drum style charcoal bbq for approx £50

I hosted a BBQ last Sunday; 20KG of charcoal, 15 people, a stack of meat, fish, salad, bread and beer. - Superb :cool:

Cool - is that chimney is there to radiate heat in the evening?

Are those lights wired into the mains or solar powered? If solar powered, are they any good?
 
Steps to hosting a bbq....


1) Build BBQ - this is the most essential, the other steps are optional:

2) Build table and chairs (and optionally mark badminton court out in blue grass paint - bit faded in this pic).

3) Put up tent to use as beer tent and to house hi-fi etc

4) (probably should have come nearer the top...) Block pave patio (better for chairs than grass!!)

5) A funky circle to put the table on.

Unfortunately I'm at Uni until Tuesday.... but cannot wait for a summer back home :)
 
My parents have done an amazing job with the garden. We moved in 2 years ago, and the garden was all just full of weeds and hadn't been looked after in a long time. They filled some of the flower beds with grass and dug news ones, planted loads of new stuff, gravelled the flower beds etc.

Mum and Dad both pretty much spend every spare hour out there during the summer, but they enjoy it and it looks good, so no complaints :)

In fact, Dad is pretty handy generally... he did the patio, and also made the whole in the wall and installed the second circular window (to the right of the french doors) as there was no window there before - certainly cuts costs rather than getting someone in to do it.
 
I never want to see another bbq again :p today i sold about 50 in the silly massive boxes you can never get in the right position to scan :mad:

(I'm only angry because we're not having one lol)
