Post your bikes thread

im so glad my local MOT place isnt that bothered, they just make you push it into to the garage and testing area. Good job as changing the exhaust on mine is a pain to say the least.

My place is the same , being disabled they dont even make me get off it and they even bring me a cuppa :p:D

Great service

The Renegades are a bit of a pain to refit so yeah, I'm glad my spanner monkey is happy to test it with them fitted. I only ever use the baffles once a year at MoT time mind, the rest of the time they sit in a box and gather dust. :D

Your Ape is looking sharp btw.
I've never actually tried the MOT with a loud can fitted, but it's literally a <5min job so it's no hardship to swap it over!

Thanks! . The paintwork on yours look a lot cleaner than mine, the matt finish hides it well, your shiney red must be a pain to keep clean (you've done a good job though!). I don't suppose you know where I could get the front "RSV-R" stickers from for mine do you? They were faded when I bought it unfortunately :( . Also where the red meets the white is a bit tatty, would probably need a respray of the front fairing to fix that though :o . Might do it though, I bought this bike thinking it was a bit tatty round the edges so I wouldn't really care (and it was cheap because of it) but I've fallen in love with it :D .

Thanks, the red paint on RSV's would appear to be good quality. I polish mine every once in a while and seal it all up with Turtle Wax.

More pics of mine with its "dustbin" standard can :-

Speak to/PM Chris Kruzel over there. He is a graphics artist and has done loads of stuff as far as decals go for RSV's. I have bought a few decals from him ( the white Brembo and yellow Oz Racing wheel decals on mine along with the "iP" decals were done by him ) and despite him being based in the USA his shipping prices are very good. His decals are simply awesome. I'm pretty sure he can sort you out with the ones you are looking for.

Chris goes under the forum name of Ckruzel over there and I believe he trades on that well known auction site as rsvrrider.

Failing that I know a guy from RSV Zone who is UK based and does decals although he has nowhere near the range that Chris has available.

off on a tangent completly, does anyone here have TomTom or any other sat nav hooked up to their bike. My sense of direction is so bad its untrue, I intend fitting it so I can find my way to some decent places instead of the normal routes I take.

Just wondered those that have how they have done it. Most of the bike mounts I have seen are only suitable for bikes that have tube handle bars, which is no good for sports bikes.

I have ordered myself a lead that goes from my CTEK battery charger plug to a cigerette lighter stylle adatpot which will allow me to charge my TomTom. Just looking for a sucure method to fix the unit to the bike now. So far this is the best I have found, not cheap though.

I don't know if I can find a picture, but on my RSV I copied someone else and made a bracket out of copper pipe.

Basically squash the ends flat, and make a small section of the middle slightly flat. The flat ends go inbetween screen and fairing so the middle runs across behind the screen, I drilled a hole in the ball joint thinger and screwed it to the bar. With the bar painted black it actually didn't look too shabby. Let me see if I can find it.

Edit: Found a post that quotes it.

Mine was very similar but it was mounted on one of the mirror bolts each side, my screen is held on with clips not bolts. It actually worked really really well. Few other ideas in that thread too, good for inspiration.

There's one that goes in the top yoke as well but I can't for the life of me remember - I'm sure it's mentioned in that thread though.

Thats the same yolk mount I have on my 1098. Best you can get if a tad pricey :(

Charging cable is run directly from the battery and up through the headstock.

Simples ;)

Just checked my sat nav and there is no mounting screw. So I guess that means another adaptor. Think it might easier to get a tank bag I saw with a clear waterproof pocket on top that even tilts towards you. Waterproof section to run the cabling as well. Shame it's £100.

Ive got one of them sitting in my cupboard, never use it as the screen is too far back and you have to sit up to see it.

Ive got a TomTom rider, it comes with a bracket and i drilled and tapped 2 holes in the top yolk, works a treat.

I know what you mean, most of em are just like a map pocket on top, the one ive found is slightly different.

How did you fit your actual sat nav to the Euro Mount plate. I cant find a tomtom to euro mount adaptor and my tomotm 520 doesnt have any screw mounts in its base or back.
