Post your bikes thread

Yea its a K4!
Cool whats frankenbike? lol
Yea the R6 calipers are great, cant wait to try them on track once they are bedded in see if I can see the difference with monoblocks, theyre so easy to see the pads and take off etc, best mod to do :p
Yea still got stock master cylinder, but as I use mine on road aswell as track a standard brembro one wasnt ideal, but these new RCS with lever adjustment and 18-20 ratio look great! just abit steep! £250 cheapest ive seen.

Frankenbike's my SV... Though it looks more like swamp thing just now :( Too much abuse, not enough love. Grit can really damage your paintwork, especially when you're sliding along it at 40mph :D But it still works at least. But it's to come totally apart this year for frame powdercoating and a bit of a ground-up refurb since it's feeling a bit sorry for itself. And that's why the new forks- out with gold, in with sexeh black :D But first I have to finish taking off the left hand caliper mounts, which is a horrible job tbh.

Thing to watch with the R6 calipers is that they're smaller bore, so it's a bit like upsizing your master cylinder already- 16mm on R6 calipers feels almost like 18mm on GSXR Tokicos, so you might find that the 20 ratio option on the Brembo is just a bit too much. But then you might not, of course, lever feel is all personal taste at the end of the day.

Yea you are right I had totally forgot about that! :o
Probably only turn it to 20 on very wam day on track I would imagine :p unless I like stoppies!

Aww poor SV! mine was cleaned last year and then kept undercover :p
Yea Id like some sexy black forks for my gsxr, might get some eventually then donate my gold forks to the sv :p

Will put some pics of my new bike in here tomorrow once I've picked it up :D . Aprilia RSV Mille 'R' ;) .

Aha!!!

A fellow Ape rider. Nice one. :D

Got any questions on yer new ride, point them my way, there's not much I dont know about the things.

My RSV will be getting MoT'd next week after a seriously long winter layoff. I've not used the thing since about September last year, it's been in hibernation since then.

Can't wait to get out on it for a blat and get those twin Renegades singing again. ;)

One thing though, and I simply hate to sound like a "killjoy" but guys, if you are breaking out yer steed for the coming warmer weather, please take it easy and build up your skill level back to where you left it last time for this seasons riding. If you have had a winter layoff, dont think you can simply jump back onboard and be back where you were last July as far as ability goes. Everyone takes a wee while to get back into it again.

I have had the unfortunate task of attending 3 RTC's involving bike fatalities already within the past month, it's not a nice experience as you can imagine.

Stay safe out there for the 2009 biking season guys.

Alex, I have the same scar going down and to the right ( as you look down at it ) of ma belly button. :D

Splenectomy I'm guessing?.

I got rid of mine, or rather some old git who was 89 years old managed to help me get rid of my Spleen by pulling out on me at point blank range and nearly killing me.

Penicillin V for life, double dose every day. ;)

lol, well im a bit of a nutcase on the bikes, i think the 996s is my 7th thousand, and me being me was going round a corner at least 80, knee on floor elbow 1 inch from floor, lost back end, got it back on 2 using my knee, was thinking at the time, if only rossi saw that!!? lol by that time i was on the other side of the road, only to see a car coming at me, 54321 BANG! used the windscreen as a ramp, woke up to see about 5-6 of my mates crying (thought i was dead this time) tried getting up, realised i was completely numb, collapsed woke up 4 days later in intensive care, injuries are as follows
broken neck,
smashed rib cage,
cracked chest plate
punctured spleen(removed)
punctured lung (repaired)
black ball bag!
all shoulder blades/collar bones broke
lost 9.5 pints of blood in total
there's prob a couple more cant remember them lol
on the plus i dated a nursed when i was in hospital for a bit with size GG ***!
am i ok now? well i went down to 5.5 stone, now im 11, trying to get it all back together, i have no immune system any more, i take tablets to stay alive, and just the last 3 days my blood pressures dropped and i keep passing out!

theres the best lesson for all bikers no matter how long your experience, read that post over and over and think just how little control you have for what some other plank will do on the road, sobering thought indeed.

Keep it safe fellers :)

and for the sake of a repost heres my 750
