My CBR 125 R 2004/2005

Defo not the fastest but nice n small for commuting and learning till I do my full test end of May. De-tango'd it today and put the original rear idicator types back on with clear lenses.

I need to top up the brake fluid on the front, any gotchas or things to take note of?

your prolly better off bleeding new fluid all the way through... keep bleeding it till you get the new fluid out of bleed nipple, will be much lighter in col

i got a lazy one way valve in some tubing for mine couple of years back, saves messing around pulling brake, loosening nipple, retightening, releasing brake a billion times

after your done, clamp your brake lever in with a cable tie over night, really tightens up your lever.... assuming brake pistons in good nick and not binding.

every few thousand miles I strip brakes and pump each piston out a few times while chocking up the others with bits of wood. also brush off all the crud from the pistons. if you dont do this regulary you get 'lazy' pistons that don't move as much as the others. also clean up the pins the pads slide on with abit of fine emery, then coat it with copper slip / grease before reassembly. i think there is some pretty good guides on youtube that go through all this in detail...

Nice one thanks for the advice.
Its gathering a lot of muck in certain areas as I commute everyday so looks like a full brakes and crevices clean next weekend then!

Need to get a trackstand to allow me to retension the chain as got approx 25mm play just now.

So nice to work on such a small "thing", can get to all bits so quickly on a bike vs a car.

My Speed Triple's engine went south (don't you just love British engineering) so have now got this;

Nice clean low mileage 1st Generation Fazer 1000 on a 51 Plate.

I've added a jack-up kit and dropped the front forks by 10mm to get the handling spot on. I've fitted a Fuel end can and have shortened the baffle so it sounds just right (not too quiet but not too offensive). The R1 derived motor has bags of torque for making decent progress and a wicked top end for full on hooning.

Little down on power compared to some bikes in this thread, but this bike carried myself, the girlfriend and our luggage (2x45l and 1x52l) over the alps and across france two weeks ago.

My teapot! :D

Hmm that really is a bad picture, was taken on my phone, will dig the camera out next time we have sunshine!

Tried it dude :p 130PSI of pressure and none of the buggers moved :/ so dad filled it up with anti corrosive stuff, then we got this £15 tool that grips the inside of the piston but its all man power to hurts like hell :p and with that and 130PSI we have managed to get 3 out of 4 pistons out, last one wont budge a mm, so next is to try that combination + heat :p
