Post your bikes thread

I have never got my knee down on the road and I don't really move about much on the bike when setting up for a corner. A little bit, naturally, but I don't shift weight all over the place. No chicken strips here, although my rear carbon hugger isn't sitting perfectly and sometimes catches the right hand edge of the tyre which results in a "pseudo-chicken strip" of a couple of mm every now and then. :D

There's a guy who rides out with us regularly on a 54 plate R1 Yam who absolutely climbs all over his bike when cornering, hanging right off it and getting his knee down on almost every run we go on. His sliders are wrecked.

However, despite my cornering style mentioned above, he is almost always in my way and holding me up when we "up" the pace during a run. And he has chicken strips.

Kneedown doesnt really matter on the road but I do think hanging off (I'm not talking MotoGP stylee but just getting something off) does help you corner safer, means less lean for the same corner speed, so you have more to give if you need to. I know people who have never got their knee down but still ride around the outside of people at trackdays so dont worry about it.

I've got a friend who rarely gets overtaken in the fast group on a trackday, doesnt hang off at all (Still gets his knee down tho ;) ) he had to remove his rear brake peddle because it kept on scraping on the ground....so did his crashbungs/fairings/leathers and almost everything else.

And some more photo whoring... even the pro photographer managed to get a few snaps on my ill-fated trackday!

That may be - but who's wearing the unmarked sliders :D

I'm joking! :p

I've got the ones with Ti bolts in them spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarks

Edit: Like MouseMat says - Everyone has their own riding style that they are comfortable with.

I put it down to the superiority of Aprilia handling and cornering over my m8's Jap tackle.

/runs

:D :p

:D :p

I can vouch for this.

Entered a slow 90 degree right hander on my way to work today waaaay too quickly. Pulled the Flaco down with my left knee and hoped for the best.....baby sailed around.

Phew! :D

Actually i think I forgot to put my brain in before I left the house today...

Nice Yoshi! c'mon what power is it kicking out then with those mods? :p

Whats that butterly mod then?
I don't know what the power output is yet...Should be very close to around 150hp at the rear wheel..

The butterfly mod is a bit like the mode switch you have on 09 R1 & gixxers/B-king etc changes the throttle response from boring to instant plus adds some small HP gains..

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh The bike was manufactured pre-1973, honest guv ;) (Its also not taxed which i discovered when i got it out to ride t'other day). Doh! Legal dimensions though.

LOL! you will get lynched for that here!

Wonder how long you can go before your stopped for the plate :D bets anyone? :p

was ok for 2 years on my silver Anniversary Honda SP1

What wrong with the plate ??? is it to big ???

Nah, its legal dimensions, just should be yellow and black. Vehicles built before 1973 used to have silver/white letters on a black plate. Its not totally illegal. Well, yes, it is actually, but not ****-take illegal.
