Sold them after getting pulled on the R1 doing an absolutely ludicrous speed along an A road, got off with it luckily but made me reconsider having such fast toys. :(

Must admit I was lucky last night. I'd spent ages stripping fairings, cleaning everything up, oiling the chain and trying to get rid of a few rattles with strategically placed foam lol.

Went for a test ride and ended up having a little play with an R32 on some twisties. We turned on to the bypass and I decided to floor it past the car - didnt actually see the speedo but was at the redline in 2nd gear when I saw the front end of a white car poking from behind a bush! rolled off the throttle and gently hit the brakes and went past the copper at 60 but it was close - he just laughed as I went past - must have sounded pretty obvious when the race pipe went from redline to 3k in a second lol.

LOL.

I would loved to have seen that.

Yeah, I laughed about it after I was sure he wasnt going to follow me! Doesnt sound all that fast, but redline in 1st is about 105mph, and I was in 2nd so I was definitley in banning territory!

No problem, yea not sure when a lot of bikes started to keep them on, gsxr is always on but my old sv you had to turn on too.

Im off to bed got to be on the road for 4am :/ hope the weather makes it worth it lol

It's the rules now, with lights, my 01 Fazer has a switch but my 04 Z750 didn't. Dunno when it happened apart from between those two years.

Yep, legislation was introduced on all new bikes, that dim beam had to be on constantly basically, so we're easier to be seen. Never a bad thing and its not exactly a annoyance. It was introduced about 2003 IIRC.

I remember when my dad got his Blackbird, 01ish I think, it was a couple of years old and had no switch, as the US had daylight running lights as a requirement already by then and it was a parallel import.

Nice to see people still riding strokers, they're better in every single way except pure competitiveness. I miss my YZ, but I don't miss being reminded every Sunday that I can't ride a motocross bike to save my life. I also don't miss being lapped repeatedly by 11 year olds on CR85s :/

hahaha i know how u feel mate, i've been rididng for 6months and they do the same to me.. but its all good fun at the end of the day!

2000 Hornet, needs the fairing/screen sorted as they seem to have been cleaned with wire wool or something by a previous owner. I'm also looking to get a tail tidy, seat cowl and a belly pan fitted.

Here is my steed, hasnt moved in 3 years, new battery and fired up instantly just needs front break un-seased and an ignition barel.

Fired up and sounded a bit rough but soon smoothed out and sounded like a true V4
