Bet you the E30 M3 would wipe the floor with it on a handling circuit as well with some good rubber fitted. Cars are so fat these days. :p

Reviews suggest the C6 (the one pictured) leaves quite a lot to be desired compared to european rivals from the time.

I'm aware that the C7 is supposed to handle really very well.

Driven a few C6 Vettes, they actually handed really quite well, as long as you use your brain, had a mate with a C6 Z51 which handled lovely also had action traction management, which was a bit ahead of its time but worked very well. Spent a couple of hours driving a C6 Z06 which I very nearly purchased, incredible handling car and oh my what an engine.

But the C6 is actually a very good handling car, just in the wet keep active traction management fully engaged, leaf springs yes, but they were still very capable cars. The C7 is certainly a further improvement, however the shorter wheel base actually makes them feel a touch twitchy until you get used to the way they handle.

Oh that particular car is a Z06 C6 with the 7.0l, leaf springs and handles amazingly well, its pretty much the exact one I drove, down to the colour and has a ring time of 7:22 so quicker than any GTR pretty much with less power. :)

Didn't those ones still have leaf springs? :D

Yes, but the handling is pretty exceptional, driven the Z06 on UK roads, great bit of kit to be honest, just needs respect in cold wet conditions like pretty much any RWD car, but those do in particular as something like 345 section rear tyres if memory serves me right. :D

This one is clearly not stock:

But they are very capable, a big 7.0l and a very light chassis makes for great ingredients for a very capable track car.
