The fact it’s narrow and tall probably makes it perfect for urban use. A proper motorway pursuit will use gas turbines anyway... in the helicopter!
Surely any patrol car has to be ready to give it some beans though, they can't tell the crim to hold on while they call in a car with some range.
It's not long ago local bobbies would tootle about town in 1.1 Fiestas and Rover Metros. These weren't used for high speed Channel 5 police porn worthy pursuits.
