Post Your Daily Encounter Pics Here

Saw a few cars today on the M25 no photos as I was driving but there was mini JDM convoy with highly modified S15 Silvia and RX7 and I also saw a Brabus (900?) Merc with the numberplate AIITCH. Didn't look like the rapper though!

There's a guy near me with N1 on his RR. Lives in an ex council house worth about 100k. His car is probably worth about that too. Seems to be a completely non-descript bloke.

Some people put all their money into their cars - one of my brother's friends has a really nice fleet of cars - several rare/limited number anniversary editions, etc. with some stuff had some serious money chucked into it but, at least when I last knew anything about it, lived in a a very basic house.

After spending far too much doing up a nice house and having to sell a nice car in the process, I can very much see the attraction. I could totally live in a flat and have a fleet of cars in a lock-up, but alas I don't live by myself :p

Parked next to this nice looking Ferrari 599 GTO at the M3 Fleet services , the pictures don't do the paint justice, looked lovely when the sun reflected off it.

Got a good look and sit in a Roma today. The controls and display feel less cramped than I expected. This spec had the default headliner that I would avoid but was otherwise decently Spencer.

Parents are rich but not rich enough to get him into a top uni
More likely that the chap is a Kuwaiti Naval Officer and doing a combined training course at Portsmouth Naval Base and the Uni.

They tend to do a 3-4 year placement (depending on whether they're studying Management, Comms or Engineering), going home with a Masters & better English (albeit with the 'orrible Mockney Pompey accent).

The few I've met over the years have been decent guys, paid incredibly well, but also related to the Al-Sabah royal family (it's a *big* family).
My Dad teaches an Advanced Comms unit at the base and says most are really eager to learn and highly capable - in 20 years he knows of only 2 failing the course and having been sent home, "bringing the House of Al-Sabah into disrepute" (big, big trouble).

yeah that one. Gets air under the car :D
Car goes burrrrrrr… Gordon Murray likes that, but only in reverse

The air-skirt days of F1 were a little before my time, but looking back they would have been my fave… that point where they had no real limits and they were pushing crazy ideas to develop the tech in weird ways… that’s what F1 should be in my eyes… not this modern crap where the limits are so strict…

All other racing series have that in place… F1 was supposed to be the “let’s see what we can really do” side of motorsport… then they killed it… now LMP1 and the new hyperclass is much more interesting. But even there… the records the 919 tribute set everywhere after it was retired and Porsche decided to de-restrict it… that’s the real F1/LMP1 I wish we had :(

Last time I enjoyed F1 was the silly side of Schumacher starting the race from the pits and winning… was so much fun to watch, even if clear imbalance… but best driver and best car combo is amazing… not this annoying side of Hamilton… best car but bad driver winning everything. That’s terrible. So funny to see him complaining so much now Mercedes don’t build the best car anymore after these last few rule changes
