Post Your Daily Encounter Pics Here

Did a Supercar Driving Experience today. Drove a Ferrari California T, Lambo LP560-4, Porsche GT3 RS. Fantastic experience, favourite was the Porsche........what an utterly amazing machine - now on Autotrader looking at similar examples :D

Noticed a G81 M3 Competition Touring sat in the Paddock on a side road and asked what it was for - they use it for demo drift laps as passenger rides. So being curious to get in one and see what it was like compared to my M340i Touring, we had a go - my partner and I and my 12 year old lad. Kinda pointless, really as the driver put it in 'Track' mode and threw the thing sideways at stupid speeds - so no 'road' comparison was possible. Still not keen on the LCI one piece glass dash though!!

Fab day out, will definitely be back to try some other cars and that GT3 RS again. Now.........back to AutoTrader for a nose at prices of GT3's

They are a classic and have shot up in price now. Saw one going up at a local auction with a £5k-£10k guide price!

Seriously? I remember when you had to pay people to take them away. Scrappers didn't want them because fibreglass body and there was no money in the engines or running gear.

most likely because they are rare as rocking horse *** now, and the current climate

They are still basically worthless, I can't see any Reliant 3 wheelers that have sold for more than 2250 in recent history, and that was a very tidy looking 1970s supervan. Most are well below 1500, the majority below 1000, and recent sales of those 90s models as pictured are all between 400 and 900.

not sure what the deal with that 5 - 10K auction was. My guess is it either had a famous owner or was part of a famous show, or the person who valued it had inhaled a bit too much helium. :p

I regularly see British Leyland stuff extremely cheap (relative to other classics) too. Allegros, landcrabs, Maestros etc, often around the 1500 mark. I have been occasionally tempted before coming to my senses.

Scarcity/rarity doesn't always equal value when it comes to old cars. There could be a single Austin Ambassador or similar left and it would probably still be worthless. Friend had the only Rover 416 GTI Tourer left on British roads and couldn't sell it for 2000 lol.

Yep, had this with my Gran’s Escort. An Escort you say? Must have been worth millions! Not a Mk4 1.3 Finesse, that’s for sure! Basically never see them on the road, but there’s a reason for that. Pretty much weighed it in for scrap in the end.

Three vans currently for sale on auto trader for £12k to £14k each though . The only car one for sale is up for £3k. Plenty up for sale on car and classic between £4k and £5k. Especially the original mark 1 1970s cars. Moats people would say those cars are about £4k too much for what they are worth. The fact that there can be so many of them advertised for several thousand pounds should be enough to shock most people

Dreamers. Past sales on eBay have all ended in the hundreds in the past few months.

i always find ebay is much less for any car I have ever looked at compared with classic car sites or club sites or autotrader. usually by thousands. Ebay is for all the trash cars to be sold IMO.

Its like my midget i had. you wont see them going above £5k on ebay, usually not even above £3k. I sold mine for £7500.

If you want to buy cheap than buy off Ebay. If you want to sell and get what your car is worth, dont sell on Ebay IMO.

Saw a beautiful Alpina B12 6.0 e-Kat e38 today, extremely rare in a deep burgundy colour, unfortunately no photo but wow!

The EKAT on the back of those amuses me. Why are you so proud of your emissions reducing technique that you emblazon it on the back of a performance oriented car? :p

I remember many moons ago when I first moved to Holland that Volvos all had a little "Lambda Sensor" badge on the boot and front wings, always wondered what that was about.

Lots of cars in the 90's had "catalyst" and "catalyser" badges on the back, I just think its funny that a sporty car has it on there :p

I also find it amusing when cars from the 70s have "automatic" badges on the back. What are those for? Haha

I remember Cavaliers with "ABS" badges too. Other brands had it before Vauxhall and didn't feel the need. :D

Vauxhall still insist on putting turbo on the back of half of their cars!

At least no one is putting fake exhausts on electric cars...yet.

I suppose some have fake exhausts sounds already though, which is just as cringe.

Doesnt the new Hyundai have both internal and external speakers and you can select "ICE" as one of the sounds?

Getting silly when manufacturers start putting external speakers on IMO.
