They are a classic and have shot up in price now. Saw one going up at a local auction with a £5k-£10k guide price!
Seriously? I remember when you had to pay people to take them away. Scrappers didn't want them because fibreglass body and there was no money in the engines or running gear.
most likely because they are rare as rocking horse *** now, and the current climate
Scarcity/rarity doesn't always equal value when it comes to old cars. There could be a single Austin Ambassador or similar left and it would probably still be worthless. Friend had the only Rover 416 GTI Tourer left on British roads and couldn't sell it for 2000 lol.
Three vans currently for sale on auto trader for £12k to £14k each though . The only car one for sale is up for £3k. Plenty up for sale on car and classic between £4k and £5k. Especially the original mark 1 1970s cars. Moats people would say those cars are about £4k too much for what they are worth. The fact that there can be so many of them advertised for several thousand pounds should be enough to shock most peopleThey are still basically worthless, I can't see any Reliant 3 wheelers that have sold for more than 2250 in recent history, and that was a very tidy looking 1970s supervan. Most are well below 1500, the majority below 1000, and recent sales of those 90s models as pictured are all between 400 and 900.
not sure what the deal with that 5 - 10K auction was. My guess is it either had a famous owner or was part of a famous show, or the person who valued it had inhaled a bit too much helium.
I regularly see British Leyland stuff extremely cheap (relative to other classics) too. Allegros, landcrabs, Maestros etc, often around the 1500 mark. I have been occasionally tempted before coming to my senses.

Dreamers. Past sales on eBay have all ended in the hundreds in the past few months.
Saw a beautiful Alpina B12 6.0 e-Kat e38 today, extremely rare in a deep burgundy colour, unfortunately no photo but wow!
The EKAT on the back of those amuses me. Why are you so proud of your emissions reducing technique that you emblazon it on the back of a performance oriented car?![]()
I remember many moons ago when I first moved to Holland that Volvos all had a little "Lambda Sensor" badge on the boot and front wings, always wondered what that was about.
Lots of cars in the 90's had "catalyst" and "catalyser" badges on the back, I just think its funny that a sporty car has it on there
I also find it amusing when cars from the 70s have "automatic" badges on the back. What are those for? Haha
I remember Cavaliers with "ABS" badges too. Other brands had it before Vauxhall and didn't feel the need.![]()
Vauxhall still insist on putting turbo on the back of half of their cars!
In fairness to them it isn't as stupid as Porsche putting it on the back of an electric car.![]()
At least no one is putting fake exhausts on electric cars...yet.
I suppose some have fake exhausts sounds already though, which is just as cringe.
Doesnt the new Hyundai have both internal and external speakers and you can select "ICE" as one of the sounds?

Here's What the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N's Synthetic Engine Noise and Paddle Shifters Sound Like
All that exhaust noise? It's totally fake.www.roadandtrack.com
Getting silly when manufacturers start putting external speakers on IMO.
