Your insurance is not only related to you and how you drive or what claims you make. It's related to your local area, claims made and things that happen (vandalism, theft) etc.

If a car is damaged or stolen near your house it'll put your area at higher risk, therefore you pay more.

oh i see, that's a bummer :(

Half tempted to pop along to that meet at times, but seems to be more for the pop pop bang bang crowd, some nice cars there though! The mk modern classics is usually a much better meet imo but then I'm old.....

Its always entertaining, there is usually a police car or 2 cruising through most of the night which keeps things mostly under control.

I've seen a few imported US spec pickups on the road in the UK. Looks like it would be a real pain everywhere except motorways.
They do love a pick up in parts of the US for sure and they have some crappy cars out there but also a couple of decent ones we don't seem to see here. Really nice looking Honda (I think) with very current 3 series vibes caught my eye but some of the pick ups are vast, often seen pulling trailers. In Cape Cod every other car was one pulling a trailer offering gardening and landscaping services. The money there is incredible and no one does their own gardens, which is why they look so good.

I don't get the US thing with having lawns look like a putting green. In the UK we seem to be going the other way and letting things grow wild. Much better for the environment and far less effort.
