Post Your Daily Encounter Pics Here

The 80s/90s were prime for cool cars, boxy, but cool. My dad had a Nissan Bluebird ZX Turbo, before that a Sylvia 1.8 Turbo!

There was definitely more verity back then. Cars looked very distinctive especially the high end stuff.

Now the road is filled with SUV/crossover things which all look the same. To the point where even car nerds can't tell the silhouettes apart.

I remember as a late teen going on family journeys and as my dad liked driving at night, I'd often look at car head or tail lights and be able to tell exactly what model it was as they were all mostly distinct - Then the challenge was to count how many were right as they got closer.

Nowadays that is impossible :D

I could name pretty every car/model at one point. Now I just don't care to even find out, unless it's something rare or interesting. Which isnt very many cars these days. It seems like even supercars are all over the place. There are more 911s around than Beetles.

When safety and emmissions standards are so tight, and customers are so demanding, it's inevitable that so many cars will look similar.

They keep pumping up taxes and this is the result. People take the risk. How long can someone get away with no tax? My sister forgot to renew hers for over a year before getting spotted by a fixed ANPR camera. Got just £100 fine, cheaper than the tax.

They are going to slap loads of tax on EVs as well soon. Which is going to kill an incentive to get one. This government are idiots

Reminds me of You Bet from back in the day:

Totally agree! Even during the day I struggle to tell the difference between different brands, let alone different models :o
Every Korean/Chinese/Japanese/Mercedes family car all look the same :/

It doesn't help that they've all started to spell out the brand rather than using logos, making it even harder to figure out what it is from a distance.

The latest example is yesterday, I walked past two new Vauxhall cars with the new front bumper nd and thought "cool Hyundai" but then noticed the stealth logo.

Vauxhall have copied the near exact aesthetic of Hyundai...
