Private plate or is it an RS4.
Afaik, the RS4 was out on a X plate (2000) to a 51 plate (2001).

Spotted what i *think* is an RS6 estate today in town, will put photo up shortley, I wasnt aware these were being produced yet.

talking of number plates, there was dragon boat racing down the local lake / park today, one of the organisers 4x4's had the plate DRA660N :]
