not necessarily. they could be originals from the 80s or early 90s, as the valves weren't hidden in those days..

Strolling along the JBR walk in Dubai this evening and saw this Hamman Modded X6 - in the metal the white is matt. Looked like a stormtrooper.

Not all road going Renualt 5 Turbos had engines at the front............

Edit: Just to be more clear they made 400 MR engined Renault 5 turbos so they could build the rally car that way and put it up against the likes of the Metro 6r4 and the 206Ti16.

So yes if you did see a 5 turbo with big side vents at the rear well done, good spot, i've seen a few on the road and one at the Nurburgring, they sound amaing on overrun.

Didn't say that was the case. The MK2 R5 Turbo was known as the GT Turbo which is the car I'm refering to. The MK1 had the engine where the rear passenger seat should be.

The Mk1 came in both FF and MR engine formats i thought?

The MK1 Gordini Turbo was FF IIRC.

Many confuse the different versions of the Renault 5 Turbo, often grouping them all under the common moniker "Renault 5 Turbo". The "Renault 5 Gordini Turbo", referenced above, is the front-engined predecessor to the "Renault 5 GT Turbo". The "Renault 5 Turbo", "Renault 5 Turbo 2" and variants are the mid-engined versions with the wide wheel-arches (which are so often copied with poor-quality bodykits on second-generation Renault 5s).

it has an M badge on the back as it has the M pack.
the number plate is irrelevant
