Let me guess you were not given free reign of the 360 on track?

that looks like Elvington Airfield

They very much do give you free reign of the car (theres nothing to bump into, its an airfield circuit)

Only problem is the time for the money. You only get about 3 laps (iirc ?) or so for your £100, plus 2 training laps in an impreza i think.

I reckon I could probably start my own thread with the different cars I see at work. On average I probably see 2-3 Aston's a day...

Here is one I got a quick snap of:

They don't. They still tell you to keep the revs down and start having a hissy fit if you go against what they say... which is what you need to do if you want to have any fun rather than just driving a fast car steadily around an airfield.

Mate, you should see the video I got. I should upload tonight. After I get out of the car park, I put my foot down in first without thinking because I am so used to the mini. I think my instructor nearly had a heart attack! :o :p

And they do encourage you to go faster, my dad did a 458 italia this time and he said he was well over 120mph at one point. I only reached 80 or so, then again I have never been on a super car experience let alone driven a car with power steering for two years so I was not used to it at all. :(

Got 4 laps, £90 (pre booked - well, was a gift). Needs must and all. :D

(it was elvinginton btw)

EDIT:

Show me man, I'm up your ends.

I should be at some Bradford car meet tomorrow. I can give you the details if you like, meeting a few mates then convoying down. Message in trust. Meeting in bingley. :)

think it depends on your instructor i know somebody at work who went and said he got to thrash the living daylights out of the ferrari he went out in.

He only went as he got it as a gift from his wife and it would have been rude to say no ..

and it would have been rude to say no ..

Of course. ;)

I enjoyed it to be honest. Though there was one of those new Ford Focus RS in that lovely nuclear waste green ooze colour. Was overtaking everything in sight. Looked like fun.

They wanted £25 a lap for that on the day. Not to bad I suppose. Have you been there MrLOL?

Will have to make it some other time, busy tomorrow. I got your message in trust btw.

Loads of em here too, especially the Duster and Logan MCV is quite popular but you also see Sanderos. Didn't realize they were rare in the UK.

I don't think I have ever actually seen a Dacia in the metal.

I reckon the majority of the cars on the roads here are either, BMW, Audi, Volkswagon, Ford or Vauxhall. The way it looks to me those 5 brands between them I think make up at least as many if not more than all the other marques combined. The French cars seem to have fallen rather out of favour in the last few years, on the other hand some of the Japanese ones have become more popular, Mazda and Mitsubishi have grown in popularity I would say.

Bear in mind this is not based on any really evidence at all, just my observations of what I see day to day.

LOL what about Nissan and Honda...? :p

Hmmm yea, Honda are pretty popular, I don't see so many Nissans as I used to though, except that Quashquai thing ...but there aren't that many of those around.

I may be overestimating the 5 brands I mentioned market share somewhat and underestimating everyone else’s ...well I probably am ...horribley, but those 5 do seem to be by far the most popular these days.

And if we were to include the group cars aswell, such as Mini for BMW, Seat and Skoda for VW/Audi etc.

The problem is the really tiny little city cars, I don't even know what most of them are, I filter them out as I haven't the slightest interest in them ....so I'm missing most of that market I think. And I bet that is dominated by the Japanese.
