Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

Black knobs? :)
My passive kit was all originally silver but they just recently brought out a black version. http://www.hificollective.co.uk/kits/glasshousehome.html here is my original build http://dik.dolan.googlepages.com/passivepre.jpg when they brought out the black version i prefered its looks and as the rest of my kit is black i ordered the black front panel but used my original silver knobs http://dik.dolan.googlepages.com/blackpre.jpg i lived with that for a few days but wasnt 100% happy so i ordered the black knobs to go with it http://dik.dolan.googlepages.com/blackknobs.jpg the front panel alone was £80 i think and the knobs cost £15 each.I know non of that alters the sonics but i wanted it to match the rest of my kit.

Is that your photo that you posted in PV section on here on the wall on canvas?

I'm sure I speak for everyone else when I say that julianhj's room certainly has a lot of underused potential. I'd love to have a room that shape / size to craft a home cinema in.

Where did you get the laptop foam desk thing? looks pretty nifty and could do with something similar.

It's a Belkin CushTop in steel/burnt orange colour. I'm sure you can find it in a few shops. I paid £12.99 for mine from an online shop. They are regularly on offer. It works for 15" and 17" laptops specifically by being a slightly different size on the top and the bottom. I really like it!

Thank you, it's a very nice room. Granted, I could stuff it with lovely kit, but my mortgage comes first! In time, though...

We're going to get a very large canvas for the wall above the drawers when we've taken a pic good enough - probably on next year's trip to Utah and Arizona. The startrails canvas is 1500x1000mm, we want to go bigger for the next one!

:S Strange comment, looks good enough to me?

Shame you can't put the TV on any of the other walls, does the light frmo the window get annoying?

That room is crying out for a large plasma IMO, at night his lounge quietly whispers "Please buy a Kuro daddy please please":D.

The light does get annoying if the curtain is left open, so it tends to remain shut. Not a perfect solution, but works well enough for us.

A large plasma will be bought when I can justify it, but as previously mentioned that won't be for a long time to come. Maybe OLED will be affordable in large sizes by then!

Bah, didn't word it very well. All I meant was its a nice shaped room that has a lot of potential to be an awesome home cinema.

I generally tend to leave them on the equipment, just because that's how they were when they came out of the box. The only things I take labels off of is where the labels get worn.
