Post your pile of shame!

I own most of the GOG catelogue
My steam list of games is comparable to that

Its worth considering that aside from gog I scarcely buy stuff anymore (or it'd be longer)

"The rest of the money I just wasted"

:D

If anything, it'll be easier for them to do what they are currently doing because of the way operating systems have evolved since dos, 3.1 and 95

How is it a waste of money when you support your favourite developers or publishers, ensuring the strong position of steam and support in the gaming community?

Another thing is, its like collecting books for your personal library, knowing that you have access to them any time you want.

Aswell as having a bunch of games I own that I have never played yet, I have a small library full of books I haven't read yet..

That's what we say now.
5 years down the line? Games that simply won't work due to OS issues etc, etc and I'll have only just gotten on to play them :p

Possibly although if we are that bothered we can hopefully run them under an old OS.

I think part of it is just 'collection syndrome' where we like collecting things if we think they are good value even if we aren't actually going to be able to exploit that value. Realistically for example the vast majority of games will drop to £7.49 or less in sales so there is no point paying more than that unless you are are confident you will play it within the next year or so.

Worst thing for me is probably games that have yearly sequels e.g. Football Manager, I bought FM2012 but haven't played it, now FM2013 is out so that was a waste of money even though it was 'only' a fiver.

Anyway I have over 500 games on Steam (plus various other ones on GMG, GamersGate, Ubishop, Origin, GOG etc) and as a guesstimate I'd wager:

-I've completed around 100
-50 more I've tried but haven't completed
-Another 100 I'm definitely keen on playing
-Around 150 I'd probably try if I got round to them i.e. finished with the above BUT the problem is by the time that occurs I'll have bought more games that are higher up in the pecking order so the pot of 100 games above it keeps getting topped up!
-About 100 that realistically I'll never bother with (mostly filler from compilation packs)

^The big 'hole' in the above breakdown is probably those 150 games that will sit unplayed due to lack of time - I still harbour a desire to get made redundant, lol :)

In terms of 'big name' games I own but haven't played they include:
-Skyrim
-Borderlands 2
-Morrowind
-Counterstrike
-Civ4 / Civ5
-Far Cry 3
-Batman Arkham City
-FM2012
