Postal III - Based on the Source engine

Is it possible that Valve have blocked it from their store? After all it's using their engine, and their store, it kind of reflects poorly on them.

Loved the 2nd one fetching some milk to start off with and somehow getting to the point of weeing on a person and getting arrested :D will look forward to this

I was a fan of the 'cat gun' in Postal 2. I think it was a cheat but my god it was fun, basically an assault rifle with unlimited ammo of firing cats out of it that would bounce all over the map.

Fully auto cats all over the place, awesome.

Isn't this sort of game weirdly made better by being ****?

Its meant to feel cheap and tacky, like putting out on a first date - I'll await some reviews from this perspective.

It is a kick in the teeth to Indie developers though who submit good work to Valve only for them not to accept it onto the store.

Seems to be that if you license the Source engine, you are guaranteed a spot in the Steam store, albeit more of a placeholder.

Although at the moment, it cannot be purchased so maybe that is part of the terms when you license the engine. Obviously, it is Steamworks so the Dev/Publisher can distribute their own keys.

So, has anyone actually bought this and played it yet? According to the developers website you can buy the keys directly from them and activate on Steam.

I cant seem to find any solid info as to WHY Steam have completely taken it off their store and even the forum on steam has gone too.

I find it strange that it is a Steamworks title, that can be activated and downloaded on Steam but you cannot actually buy it from Steam. Weird.

Anyone reckon its because the game is so non-PC and Steam dont want to be associated with selling it?

Anyway, its $40 from Running with Scissors.

saints row 3 was the same, took a little while to filter through and be purchaseable via steam. that was due to a highstreet shop wanting sole rights to sell it for a while. maybe its the same with this game but i doubt it as its not as well known

Every gaming site that i could find that has reviewed this game have given it terrible scores. Some even voted worst game of year. I would stay well clear.

Picked this up on steam on friday, just submitted a ticket kindly asking for a refund under DSR as the games a complete mess. Constant crashing, I can do without fiddling through 10 different driver sets and waiting 5 months for the developer to put out a patch to make it playable. Would rather just have my money back and pick it up in a years time for £3 when its sorted and on a sale.

A shame really, I was looking forward to playing it, I enjoyed the old postal games.
