Hello people. Putting together an international care package for someone currently deprived of marmite and irn bru. Has anyone sent fizzy drinks in the post abroad and if so, how did you package and how did it go?

I'd check what you can send - stuff like Marmite should be OK but usually fizzy drinks aren't supposed to be sent by post to Canada.

I appreciate you may have done your research, but after planning a care package for a friend in the states I came to the conclusion it was cheaper to order it from Amazon USA straight to her. Have you had a look?

Value of goods vs cost of shipping factors in - was looking at £30 to ship to New Mexico so sending a £25 box of sweets and biscuits would've been £50+ all-in. Managed to find bourbons, marmite, Yorkshire teabags, etc and get them all delivered direct.

Conversely I sent a Christmas parcel with a 4-pack of beer in the UK, it got lost and I was told it's not covered due to liquids
