Postman

Yeah thats because the system changed. So infact you are getting post that you wouldnt have otherwise recieved until the following day.

So you arent really losing out. Regardless of what people might think :)

There is 3 different postmen/women that do the streets over the road at 9ish but like I said mine doesn't come till 13:30 at least some Mondays he doesn't even turn up at all I've had post a week late many times.

The post woman left my dad xmas present on my bin, we had a word with her and she has said she won't do it again, I was a bit annoyed as it was an expensive book but she didn't know that.

I think most postmen actually want to be given instructions because you'll find that a lot of people have problems with receiving packages.

We have problems with one of our neighboughs and the postman would often deliver to that address and leave a "dropped off at No. ##" card. We asked him if he would deliver to my sisters house at the end of the street and he was more than happy too.

I think the best thing to do is just speak with him about it. No point in causing him unessesary problems by complaing to his boss before actually trying to speak with him and clearing it that way. :)

My postman has left a book delivery in a wheelie bin full of freshly cut (damp) grass cuttings before. The cardboard it came in was soaked through by the time I got back from work. Fortunately the books were just about ok but you have to question the logic of some people.

Order some expensive items, when they are left in the bin unsigned, claim they have not been received..

Repeat as required.

I know people who have done this and the sender will then start hassling the post office :)

Well if you use a bit of common sense you would realise that not everyone in his 3.5hr walk can get mail at the same early time. Unfortunately some people are at the backend of the walk, and others are at the start :P

And as for not turning up at all. Chances are there was just no post for you on that day. I dont understand why he would choose not to turn up, because the frames in which you sort mail are checked to ensure they are clear for that day.

Mondays are very light days regarding post. Most billing companies etc dont deliver mail at a time that falls on a monday.

And late post isnt down to the postman. Mail goes through about 4-5 stages before it actually gets to your door. It gets picked up at its start.. taken to the local mail centre there, then sorted.. shipped to the mail centre near its destination.. sorted again, sent to the local posting office.. then sorted and posted by the postman.. So its not really that simple :)

Very impressed with our postman, brother dropped a five pound note in the front yard after a night out, next morning we find it posted through the letterbox with the rest of our mail.

Get yourself a parcel box, we have one.

Basically the postman puts the parcel in the top, then pulls the door closed. The parcel drops down and can't be taken out without the key.

I've had the postie do something similar just once. I was in the lounge waiting for the package and heard the letterbox make a noise, only to see a you were not in note. Opened door and chased the postie down the road. Got my package off of him asked what he was playing at and told him that I would be phoning up to complain.
Funnily enough haven't seem him doing my round again.

I would claim for the item saying you didnt recieve it.

Having said that my postman will see if my porch door is open and sign for them himself and i love the fact he does this for me saves me goign to post office

Sorry but this is rubbish. Why would a postie take a package out you know he could have carried that for 30 mins with other heavy items, then to get to your door not to deliver it? Yes okay makes perfect sense.

How’s it going now btw? :D Getting done much quicker yet? :p

Really light day today. Got finished by about 1pm.

back end of the week gets really heavy as you know which puts me back a lot. Had a crap day on saturday cos of council letters.

Ive gotta start splitting my round into lighter bags to speed me up i think. I cram 4 bags full but it slows me down tbh.

Really windy today. had some scary moments nearly getting mail blown out of my hand lol

Was a good day for me as well, nice day off tomorrow so even better! :D

Yeah it’s being very windy here too, you have to really grab you bundles when you walk around or else you are in trouble, I’ve had a few moments where some post has blown out of my hands onto the road them me running after it! :o :p

Me to I don’t like my bags heavy I tend to split them if they are too big as you can walk much quicker with lighter bags, what is annoying me atm is theses light bulbs we have now got another 2 companies sending them out here! madness it has to stop as we are getting well annoyed at the work load, what gets me is that supermarkets do light bulbs in a pack of 4 for 50p why not send out vouchers  There a pain :p

Ive got about 50 boxes of bulbs in the boot of my car. gonna post em on my day off lol

couldnt be arsed to carry them around with me this week
