Pot Noodle.....what a let down

I've not had a pot noodle in years - used to have them loads in my first year of uni - till I realised stuffed pasta was far nicer, easier and better for you!

My workmate recommends Shin Cup from Nong Shim. Epic noodles apparently. He is bringing some into work for a trial tomorrow

I always enjoyed the original curry ones, not had one in years partly due to always managing to cover my chest in it as the noodles flipped around on the fork! Nothing worse than trying to eat one at work only to look like you've been drooling brown stuff all morning.

I just had my first Pot Noodle in about 5 years. I have always liked them, but just haven't had one in ages. So, I made one up when I got back from work today. I noticed on the lid it said 50% less salt. OMG this is sooo tasteless it is beyond belief. What a massive let down. There is just no flavour at all. Chicken and Mushroom btw.

Nissin Cup Noodle owns pot noodles, anyday.

i love pot noodles. specially the chinese chow mein flavour. man i could go for one right now. my boss says they smell too much though and im not to bring them to work anymore.....

Edit: and there is an art to making them. DONT fill them up to the fill line, fill them up just under where the noodles sit.

Sounds abit unfair really, one should be entitled to eat anything (unless food is really over-powering e.g. Durian) - unless he owns the place and everyone has to sit when he says so?

he does own the place lol. apparently they are very overpowering. my workmate gets a damn cornish pasty and that stinks!!

I concur with OP.

Pot noodles are a load of chuff since they chopped out all the good/bad (depending on how you look at it) stuff.

Even if you go on the offensive with a truckload of salt, pepper and soy sauce.

They removed more than just salt. last one i had was like 6 months ago and there was absolutely no taste

Talking of removing salt, have you ever tried "Reduced fat and salt baked beans" ?

If you haven't, keep it that way. They're the most tasteless rubbery mush I've had, ever. Gross!

RIP Pot Noodle.
I really used to like Pot Noodles, they were always good for getting me through a late night Grand Prix or during lan's.
I tried a Sweet & Sour one the other day, they were always my favourite. It wasn't the normal bland feeling, it was as if I had been drained of all satisfaction I had that day.
Unconvinced I just had a Beef & Tomato one, it was also bland rubbish.
Why bother removing the stuff that makes it taste nice? Might be healthier but nobody will want to eat them anymore... Curse you Pot Noodle!!!

I am a fan of my 'just add water' noodle based snacks, will just have to search for the alternatives.

Yep, I agree. I used to enjoy a quick Pot Noodle when sitting here at the computer. Ever since they changed them though I've switched over to Lidl's own brand Curry noodles. They're a far superior snack.

Agreed. Lidl's own brand are great, really spicy.

Let's face it, anyone who is health conscious will probably be eating real food instead of pot noodles anyway.

On a similar note I had some low fat bacon flavoured super noodles once. It was possibly the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. I was nearly sick.

Exactly! I don't go out of my way to eat crap food but sometimes I just feel like eating it... I know it's bad for me and I'll pay for it in later life but I'll take the risk...
Maybe they could start adding another satchet in with Pot Noodle that includes all the tasty badness that's being left out? Got to be better than a tiny thing of sauce.
