Potato cooking question

I prefer oven cooked potatoes but if I don't have an hour to spare, there is nothing wrong with using the microwave. It's considerably faster though I never get a nice crisp skin myself.

that is true, can't say I've ever burnt a potato lol
I have, a couple of times; admittedly not in an oven, but cooking them outside wrapped in foil. The thing is, though, they are just as nice when cooked to a blackened frazzle on the outside as they are when cooked "properly". :)

i cant stand jacket potatoes that were partly cooked in the microwave they dont taste right.

i also find the better potatoes to use are ones bought fresh from a market stall , just tell them "im looking for a few nice big taties to cook as jacket spuds"

the guy i go to knows exactly what i want because im at his stall every week :D he gives me some massive potatoes , pure white inside and they cook wonderful , much better than the cack you get pre packed in supermarkets.

I once cooked some baked potatoes by stealing firewood from a barn, driving out to a vineyard, lighting a bonfire, then wrapping the potatoes in foil and throwing them in. They were the best potatoes I've ever eaten. Ever.

Christ almighty, you might know a bit about computers but you know **** all about cooking!
Stick the spud in the oven and stop whinging!;)

we did that every bonfire night in the 80's and 90's before building your own local bonfire for your area was illegal
