** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

Since I'm currently troubleshooting my PC I've been running single Fury X on this for a while and I gotta say, I'm mostly above the FreeSync range in games just on the one card (I use FRTC to halt at 80fps). Something to consider :)

I'm finding the same with the sapphire fury tri-x, in the past ive been chasing the highest fps possible and now I'm trying to stay under 75fps

So I was in a store last week and seen this and couldn't believe how good the colors were on it. Random thought but does anybody know how the picture on this monitor would compare?

I've only ever had TN panels so I'm not sure what to expect.

The reason that was so good is because it's an OLED TV. I seen it the other week as well and was blown away by it. Not sure how far off we are for OLED in gaming monitors though.

I'm waiting for OLED TV prices to come down so I can get one for console gaming.

Yeah OLED is just fantastic in terms of picture quality.

I'm not surprised you noticed a difference since you use TN panels. They're great for speed but in terms of colours they aren't perfect (obviously some panels are better than others).

You don't happen to play ESO do you? If so does the above apply? that's the one i'm mostly curious about curently. Or anything that's FPS i guess would be a good indication?

finally have it set up to my liking, no problems to report and the sapphire fury is doing a grand job, heres a few pics although not very good ones from my phone

I don't play ESO, but I'm playing Fallout, CoD, Anno 2205, Tales of Vestiria and my framerate is more than acceptable. As Old Gamer and I mentioned, we're pretty much having to try to REDUCE the framerate to stay closer to FreeSync range. There are moments where the framerate might go to the lower end of the range - but the range goes down to 30 and I've never managed to get the framerate below that :P

Im watching this closely as im looking to make a purchase, possibly.. for more than one.

Im also following the the Acer community forum where Acer mods are doing there best to overcome the problems. Im sure within a month or so things will work themselves out. By and large most users seem to be really happy with the monitor, living up to what they were hoping for. Granted the issues are there but im hoping after the firmware updates and where needed (hardware) updates are resolved, in channel for the next batches that come through, I will make a purchase.

I am currently setting up a triple TitanX WC system and have been following this for some time. I have been intending to create a 3 screen surround system (inc for commercial purposes) so once things get resolved I might be making a purchase.

Fallout is probably a little more demanding that eso for a gpu :). I'll take it as a good sign

I play both ESO and Fallout 4 albeit on a Nvidia card and ESO's frame rates are much lower for me.

Thats a lot of monitor!

If your buying the GSync version id def hold off due to the well documented problems that are being highlighted...

I have the FreeSync version and couldnt be happier, 75 fps is np, Freesync is great, minimal BLB and glow, couldnt be happier. I still have a chuckle to myself in the mornings when i see it for the first time.....

Looking good Old Gamer! its still living up to your expectations then? Im off to London to see the misses this wkend so if i dont get a chance too before ill stick some picks up for mine when i get home! :D

Blackscreen would be amazeballs.

I was going to do a pic of the blb test and whilst it looked fine with little on the top edge if I try and take a pic with my phone it looks really bad and nothing like in real life for some reason, I will dig out my diggi camera later and have another go

just make sure you take it from a couple of metres back to avoid capturing IPS glow. on a slowish shutter speed should help capture it more realistically. also make sure you are at a sensible recommended brightness level (not 100% )
