POTY - Wayne Rooney

YPOTY - James Milner

PFA Premier League XI:

Hart
Ivanovic, Dunne, Vermaelen, Evra
Valencia, Fabregas, Fletcher, Milner
Rooney, Drogba
 
Pretty good selection although I'd have Reina in ahead of Hart. Having said that, Hart's won Birmingham a lot of points and has been exceptional so it's hard to argue against his inclusion.

James Milner's had a great year. But better than Cesc? Me thinks the English player was selected this year..

Cesc at 22 has had 19 goals and 19 assists in 36 games. Milner's 24, had 12 goals and 15 assists in 48 starts.

Yeah Milner's had a good season. But if Rooney is POTY then surely he's YPOTY as well? :p

As far as the team goes, that's about right as well. Only ones i'd maybe question is Dunne, but it's hardly been a good season for defenders; and Drogba, who's been a bit inconsistent.
 
Dunne has to be signing of the season tbh, he's been awesome for Villa and in a season where Rio & Vidic have missed so many games through injury and Terry has been **** Dunne has been by far over the season the best CB

I do wonder had he not scored the amount of goals he has whether Vermaelen would have got all the praise he's had this season....
 
Yeah, not putting the lad down, i really like him! Has a great chance to be a star english player of the next generation (Although i think his talents are wasted on the wings ;) but thats another debate).
 
Can't argue with the Rooney one, and I have nothing against Milner - But has he been better than Fabregas this season? Really??
 
I would have Scott Parker in there instead of Fletcher, the bloke has been the backbone of West Ham all season.
 
Vermaelen has been very solid this season. Maybe he would have got less praise with fewer goals but that wouldn't change the fact that he's played well.

YPOTY should be Rooney IMO.

To be perfectly honest it's somewhat of a sham that any of Rooney, Fabregas or Milner are even considered to be Young Player of the season, ok so they're all young-ish but come on they've all been about for at least 4/5 years now

Only Joe Hart should have been considered out of the four IMO

I agree with that. But I can see they wouldn't give it Rooney, as he won the POTY - So I thought the only player you could choose in the selection given was Fabregas.

That is just like saying Milner has had a better season than Fab, and it's just not true. Not in any sense of the word "better".
