Power Tools & General Tools Recommendations & Advice

Lidl will be stocking loads of their Parkside range from this Thursday, never seen them have such a range in at once before

I'll probably pick up the shop vac, drill driver, and nailer/stapler

That screwfix one has great reviews so would be interested to hear your feedback if you go for it as doing the fence and shed in the summer.

brilliant thanks.

will pick one up and a couple tubs of paint whilst its on sale.

quick question tho have you tried using it to paint indoors? Interested if it could save the bulk of room painting in the future

That's a good price, I paid this much:
24618 Wagner 2369472 Fence & Decking Sprayer 1 67.98 67.98

I haven't tried it but if you were in an empty room I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I think I need one of those. I've got about 25 panels roughly and it took me a very long time by hand. What do you do about concrete fence posts? Tape them up?

i didnt no, you can adjust the nozzle so its horizontal or vertical and the trigger isnt just on or off so you can be very accurate with it. Small press not a lot of paint for example.

theres still overspray but i will go round with the jetwasher once its dried should get it off
No problem.

On the subject of fences I built one recently and used an 18v Dewalt nailer to help put it together. Its a beast, so quick and compatible with all their other 18v stuff and is my new favourite power tool. Need another project for it now!!!

The only problem with that is I think the concrete post will draw in the paint and it wont come off (I got some on my patio and it wont come off). If you hit the fence with the pressure washer it will likely take the paint off the fence so be careful :D

Theres not enough to worry me really, its a fence at the end of the day!

i tried cleaning it off as i went but with the paint being water based it was wiping the paint off the panels also so stoped trying :)

Got a Henry the other day....best power tool I've ever bought

In the process of renovating the front room, ripped out some manky old fitted cabinets to reveal some nasty crumbly brick and plaster, grubbed up the carpet and taken all the skirting off.

Henry just consumes all the rubble and dust, love it. Makes it so easy to tidy up.

If you want to save some money on bags, just cut a corner off and empty it out. Fold it over and screw two pieces of wood together to clamp it shut. I wouldn't do it if your vacuuming lots of fine dust though as it blocks the pores of the bag and loses its vacuum.

A piece of cardboard held in your other hand as a masking shield should work fine. It will certainly prevent the majority of overspray, leading to minimal clean up.

I'm looking for a DeWalt DCD996 drill, been doing quite a lot of work in the garden, my old Aldi Hammer drill packed up. I borrowed my friends drill, and it was a DCD996, my initial thoughts was just wow, such a brilliant drill for walls and woodwork.

Not had much luck buying one as Screwfix & Toolstation are all out in my area. Don't trust Amazon and eBay tbh.

Any other reputable places come to mind?
