Practical Driving Test Tomorrow!

Yeah I'm having a lesson beforehand so I'm starting at 8.15am to do some more practises...

Would it be a good idea to have my instructor sit in with me or not? I was thinking I won't...

I asked my instructor not to, the way I see it, if you fail and dispute it with your instructor it could get messy and you'll have to resit at the same centre anyway, no need to cause bad relations!

Seriously the test is easy, if you've had enough lessons its a breeze, the problem is other people. Pray for a normal day, no push bikes etc. My test was the second of the day and the roads were pretty busy which I think worked to my advantage, less time to cover the full route due to traffic and buses that cause queues. It all helps! Also I got blocked 3 times mid manoeuvre doing a turn in the road, stuck in the reverse position, it felt as if it took ages! just don't panic :)

Oh and good luck! you'll enjoy it I promise :)

Same time I did my test :)

Just relax and treat it as if you're just going for a drive with a new driving instructor. But don't make any mistakes :p I'm sure you'll do a good job.

I spoke to mine a bit before getting into the car asked him what he drove etc turns out he was into bikes, something I knew nothing about!

Good luck on your test, my younger sister recently passed she said it wasn't as hard as she thought it was going to be.

Most of the nerves will come while sat in the test center, but once you get out on the road try and be chatty it helps a lot, you find it go quicker and you end up being more relaxed, if you make mistakes don't worry keep your head and don't keep looking at what the examiner is writing down or marking.

ALWAYS ALWAYS make sure your check your mirrors constantly, as this is what they fail most people on.

Good luck & hopefully in a few hours you have a new kind of freedom, plus empty pockets as your first car will proberly make you skint :)

Congrats :)

That first solo drive is very, very strange! You're so used to someone sitting there, feels very alien to have an empty seat there...

In before the "now the learning really begins".

Its true though. Remember that you only need to screw up twice with a speed camera or the like and you'll have to do all this again.

Enjoy the new found freedom but respect it :)
