(Practically) New car time!

Ok, I've had the car back now for a couple of weeks now but it's taken a little while to get all of the niggling problems sorted out. Pictures as below

It's a 1995 M-Reg MR2 GTi-16 but wait, there's something wrong here... A few of you might remember me posting about it in July 2006 when I actually first bought it. So what's different then?

That looks like a turbo to me

Since I bought it, I knew that the car craved more power. So I waited 18 months and saved up - In the meantime I tidied the rest of the car up so most of the suspension and brakes have been renewed along with some braided brake lines and poly suspension bushes that have been fitted.

Happy .. hell yeah I am!

MR2s are actually quite common around the Basingstoke area, so you probably wouldn't know if you'd seen me!

The car is still badged with the Uk spec trim (Stealthy), however I haven't had the joy of scaring someone who think's they're pitting against a lowly N/A engine yet

There's a fan hiding down beside the I/C on the right hand side of the engine bay picture. Other than that, no engine bay cooling other than the wind passing through it.

[Edit] The brakes set up is exactly the same between the N/A and Turbo editions anyway. As mentioned, I've had poly suspension bushes fitted. The only other suspension difference between mine and a normally Tubby model is the dampers IIRC

You don't have the raised vents then?

I will remember your plate. It's one of my party pieces.

raised vents for the fan above the turbo, i think you should look at getting a turbo engine bay lid, will get very very hot

No hotter than a standard Turbo engine bay.. The raised lid vents are purely cosmetic - There's a fairly popular modification in putting fans underneath the engine lid, but AFAIK, it wasn't a standard option

No idea on the LSD... The engine was sourced from an accident damaged donor and I haven't found any big flat car parks yet

The LSD is in the gearbox, not the engine.

god, if its not got an lsd then i feel very sorry for you. the na car without lsd was bad enough as it is.

thats the problem with getting other people to do work on your car for you
